<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Electronic Arts Inc, one of the largest video game producers in the world, with a studio also in Romania, has accepted an offer from a consortium of private investors in a deal valued at $55 billion. This marks one of the biggest acquisitions in gaming history, following Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard two years ago.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Who Are the New Owners</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The consortium acquiring EA Games includes Silver Lake Management (Saudi Arabia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund) and Affinity Partners, led by Jared Kushner, according to <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-09-29/ea-agrees-to-sale-in-largest-leveraged-buyout-on-record" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">Bloomberg</a>. The group agreed to pay $210 in cash per share for EA Games, the publisher behind major franchises such as FIFA (recently rebranded as “EA Sports FC”) and The Sims.</p>
