A conversation with Anca Mirona Constantinescu, founder of First Concept, about her journey in interior design, the balance between aesthetics and functionality, and how she creates spaces that are not only seen, but truly felt.

Anca Mirona Constantinescu is the founder of First Concept and an interior designer with a vision built around the balance between aesthetics and functionality. A graduate of the “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urban Planning in Bucharest, she shaped her professional path guided by authentic ambition and a deep passion for beauty and visual expression.

Drawn to art, aesthetics, and organization since childhood, she chose to follow a path that reflects not only competence but also a genuine connection to what she creates. Guided by the belief that she cannot create things she does not truly believe in, she transformed this passion into an authentic professional direction, developing projects where every detail is designed with meaning, coherence, and emotion.

C&B: How did your journey in interior design begin and what drew you to this creative field?

Anca Mirona Constantinescu: I don’t think there was a single moment when I decided “this is what I want to do,” but rather a continuous thread that started in childhood. I was always drawn to art, harmony, and the idea of creating something that lasts—something tangible, that holds meaning over time. I like to believe that every time I shape a space, I leave a part of myself there, in a place that becomes “home” for someone else.

Initially, I chose a safer path and started studying Tourism Management. I was 19 and, realistically speaking, I didn’t believe I could build a career in the creative field. But along the way, I started to feel more and more clearly that I wasn’t in the right place—I found myself sketching and drawing even during classes. It was a very honest signal that I could no longer ignore.

I then decided to completely change direction and pursue architecture. It was a bet on myself, without guarantees, but a necessary one. After graduating, I consciously chose to start in the technical area, working as a custom furniture designer. It was an extremely important stage because it taught me how things actually work—materials, execution, limitations, and solutions. Later, after gaining experience, I took the step toward starting my own company. Looking back, every stage played its role in building what I do today.

C&B: What has been the most difficult moment in your journey so far and how did you overcome it?

Anca Mirona Constantinescu: The pandemic period was, without a doubt, the most difficult. I was just starting my business, still in the process of learning and adapting, and that context came with a lot of uncertainty and pressure.

It was the first time I truly felt a lack of control and constantly asked myself “what’s next?” I didn’t know whether projects would continue or if everything would come to a halt. In that moment, I chose not to refuse any opportunity and to keep moving forward, even without having all the answers.

It was a very intense period, during which I worked a lot, sometimes up to 14 hours a day, without real breaks. It wasn’t easy, but it helped me develop discipline, resilience, and the ability to function under pressure. It was the kind of experience that changes you and makes you more aware of how much you can actually handle.

C&B: Which projects or experiences have defined your style so far?

Anca Mirona Constantinescu: I believe that, in reality, my style is not defined by a type of project, but by people. Each client comes with a different energy, with distinct needs and expectations, and I like to build around them.

I always try to create spaces that represent them, not just spaces that look good. At the same time, I take into account the budget and the real limitations of each space—because good design must also be applicable, not just aesthetic.

There have been projects where I had complete creative freedom, and those were defining for me. Especially in the HoReCa sector and in clinic projects, where I was able to leave a clearer personal mark and explore concepts that truly represent me. That’s where you feel the difference—when you’re not just solving a space, but actually creating it from scratch.

C&B: If we met your team or collaborators, what do you think they would say about you?

Anca Mirona Constantinescu: I think they would say I’m a creative person who constantly tests her limits and tries to bring something different into every project. I’m involved and attentive to detail—sometimes maybe too attentive—but I believe that’s exactly where the difference is made.

At the same time, I enjoy working in a team and having real communication, not just formal exchanges. I believe that good projects come from collaboration, not from a single imposed direction.

And they would probably mention a more personal aspect—that I function much better after 9:30 in the morning. Until then, things move… a bit slower. :)))))))))

C&B: Is there a dream or ambition that has always guided you, regardless of obstacles?

Anca Mirona Constantinescu: It wasn’t a very clearly defined dream from the beginning, but there was always the desire to build something of my own—something authentic that represents me in the long term.

Over time, I realized that I don’t just want to create beautiful spaces, but spaces that convey a feeling. For me, a successful project is not just about aesthetics, but about that moment when you enter a place and feel that it represents you—that it “clicks” with you.

I think that’s actually my ambition—to create spaces that are not just seen, but felt.

C&B: What is the most important decision you’ve made that changed your trajectory?

Anca Mirona Constantinescu: The moment I decided to give up my initial path and move toward architecture was, without a doubt, the most important. It was a difficult decision, because it came with a lot of uncertainty and no guarantees.

The second important decision was starting my own company. That’s where the real part begins—when it’s no longer just about creativity, but also about responsibility, organization, and daily accountability.

These two moments defined me the most and pushed me completely out of my comfort zone.

C&B: How did you build your leadership style or the way you make decisions?

Anca Mirona Constantinescu: It’s a process I learned over time. In the beginning, I relied heavily on instinct, but experience taught me that it’s important to maintain a balance between intuition and analysis.

I learned to listen more, to consider the opinions of those around me, and not to rush decisions. At the same time, I learned to fully own them, even when they are not the easiest ones.

I believe my style was shaped by real experiences, mistakes, and a constant desire to evolve and do things better from one project to the next.

C&B: How would you describe your design style and what sets you apart?

Anca Mirona Constantinescu: I don’t believe in a rigid style, because every project comes with a different story. My style is more about balance—between aesthetics and functionality, between the client’s wishes and the reality of the space.

I don’t try to impose a style, but to discover it together with the client. I believe good design is the one that represents you, not the one that follows a trend.

What sets me apart is attention to detail and the way I think of each project as a whole. Because, most of the time, details are what transform a space from “okay” into something memorable.

C&B: What does a typical day look like for you?

Anca Mirona Constantinescu: I don’t think there is a typical day in the classic sense. Every day is different and comes with its own challenges—from client meetings to working on concepts or visiting construction sites.

I enjoy this dynamic because it keeps me connected to all stages of the project. The most satisfying moments are when I see an idea starting to take shape in reality.

But beyond that, the most important moment remains when the client sees themselves in the final space. That’s when I feel the whole process made sense.

C&B: What values guide you?

Anca Mirona Constantinescu: Authenticity is the most important to me. I can’t create something I don’t truly believe in.

Beyond that, I’m guided by integrity and attention to detail. I try to maintain them in every project, even when it would be easier to choose the quicker option.

I believe the real difference is made exactly in these small things, which, put together, define the quality of a project.

C&B: What does your working process look like?

Anca Mirona Constantinescu: Everything starts with a conversation where I try to understand the person, not just the space. I find it essential to understand the client’s lifestyle, needs, and expectations.

Then comes the concept phase, visual development, selections, and finally implementation. It’s a process that may seem simple on the surface, but in reality involves many adjustments.

What matters is that, regardless of changes, the initial direction remains coherent and the final result reflects both the vision and reality.

C&B: What are the most common mistakes people make without a specialist?

Anca Mirona Constantinescu: The most common mistake is the lack of an overall vision. People choose elements that look good individually, but don’t work together.

Functionality is also often ignored. A space shouldn’t just look good—it needs to be easy to live in and respond to real needs.

From my experience, the biggest problems appear in the details—proportions, lighting, materials. Exactly where they are not immediately visible, but where the difference is felt the most.

Anca Mirona Constantinescu’s journey is defined by the courage to follow her intuition and build, step by step, an authentic path. Beyond aesthetics, her projects speak of emotion, coherence, and attention to detail—elements that transform each space into a personal experience. For her, design is not just about how a place looks, but how it makes you feel.

An interview with Cristiana Dănășel about her professional journey, leadership, the transition to entrepreneurship, and lessons from the music and PR industry. A conversation about consistency, vision, and building authentic, long-term projects.

Cristiana Dănășel is a professional who blends rigor with empathy and strategic vision with concrete action. With a detail-oriented and results-driven approach, she builds long-term projects and relationships, placing emphasis on trust, clarity, and real impact. Her journey reflects consistency, courage, and a desire to bring authentic value to everything she does.

C&B: If we were to look at a narrative thread of your career, what were the key moments that defined you?

Cristiana: I believe the moments that defined me the most were both the times of crisis and the times of success. My professional path has been marked by numerous ups and downs, each bringing essential lessons, not only professionally but personally as well. In this industry, especially at the beginning, the line between personal and professional life is extremely thin. The years spent building the foundation of a career require deep involvement and, inevitably, sacrifices, and only over time do the two areas begin to find balance.

C&B: What has been the most difficult moment in your journey so far and how did you overcome it?

Cristiana: The pandemic period was undoubtedly one of the most difficult stages, a time when the entire industry was put on hold in a context full of uncertainty. I went through that period with patience, but also with a great deal of reflection and planning, focusing on the next steps.
Another challenging moment was the transition from agency work to the PR department of a music label — a change that came with a much higher level of responsibility and decision-making power. It was an intense period, but one that settled naturally, supported by concrete results and a significant increase in confidence in my own decisions.

C&B: Is there a dream or ambition that has always guided you, regardless of obstacles?

Cristiana: Yes, there is. It may sound somewhat classic, but I have always wanted to succeed through the projects I have been involved in. I did not focus on personal branding, but rather on building and developing projects with real potential, projects that can speak for themselves.

C&B: What were you like at the beginning of your journey and how do you feel you have transformed up to the present?

Cristiana: The transformation is major and very visible. I have matured a great deal, learned to work efficiently, to make more calculated decisions, and to understand the importance of strong networking. All these years of work have shaped me as a professional and as a person, giving me clarity about my value, as well as the freedom to express my creativity in a much more confident and intentional way.

C&B: If we were to meet your team or collaborators, what do you think they would say about you?

Cristiana: I hope they would say good things. They would probably describe me as serious, loyal, organized, creative, and very attentive to meeting deadlines.

C&B: What is the most important decision you have made that changed your trajectory?

Cristiana: The decision to go independent and build my own entity, through which I could move projects forward according to my own vision.

C&B: How did you build your leadership style or the way you make decisions? Was it a natural or learned process?

Cristiana: For me, leadership style came naturally. The biggest challenge was strengthening my confidence in myself and in the decisions I was making. However, I was fortunate to be surrounded by highly experienced people from whom I constantly learned and who contributed significantly to my evolution.

C&B: From your experience, what are the most frequent mistakes brands or artists make in communication and how can they be avoided?

Cristiana: Lack of consistency and patience are, I believe, the most common mistakes. If something does not work immediately, the direction is abruptly changed, which leads to chaos and inconsistency. Many follow trends without analyzing whether they fit the project’s identity. I believe it is much healthier to adapt trends to your own universe rather than forcing yourself to fit into them. Otherwise, you risk creating a superficial, short-term image lacking authenticity — and audiences sense that very quickly.

C&B: What does a typical day look like for you now and which moments of the day bring you the greatest satisfaction?

Cristiana: A typical day is, most of the time, organized chaos. No day looks like another. There are extremely busy periods when time feels insufficient, but also moments when I can allow myself to breathe. The greatest satisfaction comes when the to-do list is fully checked off, things are aligned, and projects evolve naturally in the right direction.

C&B: What values or principles guide you in what you do and how do you apply them daily?

Cristiana: Honesty, loyalty, diplomacy, and respect — both toward myself and toward colleagues, clients, and partners. When I commit to a project, I see it through to the end, regardless of the external factors that may arise along the way.

C&B: What are the biggest challenges in working with artists and how is a long-term relationship of trust built?

Cristiana: Strong relationships are built over time, through results, involvement, and consistency. When there is loyalty, real work, added value, and a shared vision, it is impossible not to create a strong bond based on trust. Of course, there are also situations where chemistry or vision differs radically, and in such cases it is clear that the relationship cannot be a long-term one.

C&B: What skills do you consider essential for young people who want a career in communication, marketing, or PR?

Cristiana: Work ethic is essential, followed by patience, creativity, and a constant desire to evolve. It is very important to stay informed, to continuously update your knowledge, and to think outside the box. That is where truly valuable ideas emerge. There are no bad ideas, only contexts or clients that are not the right fit for them. As long as you manage to evolve alongside the market and have well-defined ethical principles, things will naturally fall into place.

Cristiana Dănășel’s journey proves that solid results do not happen overnight, but are built through patience, consistency, and deliberate decisions. Balancing strategy with intuition, and rigor with creativity, she continues to develop projects that grow organically while maintaining authenticity in an ever-evolving industry.

An in-depth conversation with Andreea Abe Adebowale about her professional journey in child and family psychotherapy, her role as President of the APRICAS Association, and the vision behind a training school dedicated to psychotherapists who work relationally, with authenticity and clinical rigor.

Andreea Abe Adebowale is a mental health specialist, highly specialized in assessment and therapeutic intervention with children, adolescents, families, parents, as well as adults. She holds multiple national and international specializations in clinical psychology, integrative psychotherapy, play therapy, family therapy, dramatherapy, adult therapy, supervision, and professional training in all these fields.

She is the President of APRICAS – the Association for Integrative Relational Psychotherapy of the Child, Adolescent, and Family System, a training school for psychologists accredited by the Romanian College of Psychologists.

She is also a speaker in the field of parenting and child mental health, particularly in the context of child development within the family and educational environments.

She is the author of play therapy books, psychological assessment and therapeutic intervention manuals for mental health professionals, as well as psychoeducational materials for parents and teachers. She works in private practice and collaborates with various institutions.

C&B: If we were to look at the narrative thread of your career, what were the key moments that defined you?

Andreea Abe Adebowale: The narrative thread of my career begins from a place of professional confusion, but with a strong motivation for learning and development. A defining moment was my personal development and psychotherapy process, which transformed an initial rejection of working with children into a clear professional calling toward working with children and families. Choosing a master’s program in child, couple, and family assessment and therapy, alongside training in integrative psychotherapy, consolidated this direction.

A second key moment was my professional debut working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders (autism, intellectual disabilities, genetic syndromes, etc.) and my involvement in NGOs. Although valuable as experience, these contexts helped me understand that the behavioral therapy approaches commonly used in treating these issues were not aligned with me, and they guided me toward seeking therapeutic approaches closer to the relational and expressive nature of the child.

Entering the educational environment as a teacher and school counselor in an international school represented a major stage of professional growth. There, I significantly diversified my tools, deepening my work in socio-emotional education, mindfulness, school-adapted play therapy, and interventions for special educational needs.

At the same time, developing my private clinical practice marked an essential shift: clarifying my therapeutic identity around play therapy and expressive-creative techniques. National and international specializations in this field led to a rapid expansion of my practice and to the decision to leave the educational environment in order to work at a deeper clinical level with children and their families.

Another defining moment was the transition from the exclusive role of clinician to that of trainer and supervisor. The invitation to teach within integrative psychotherapy training programs and, later, the development of my own training and supervision programs opened a new stage of professional maturity.

Writing my first book for specialists, followed by adapting materials for parents and teachers, as well as engaging as a public speaker, represented the natural extension of my clinical practice into the field of education and psychoeducation.

All these stages culminated in founding an accredited training school dedicated to integrative relational psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and families – a project close to my heart that synthesizes my clinical and training experience and my professional values. My journey continues to be guided by continuous learning, curiosity, and authenticity.

C&B: What has been the most difficult moment in your journey so far, and how did you overcome it?

Andreea Abe Adebowale: The most difficult moments of my career were leaving my position in the school environment and transitioning to private practice within my own private psychology office. I consider this moment difficult because, in a liberal profession, especially in the early years, there is not the same level of stability, predictability, and security as in a contract-based institutional job. Making such a decision – leaving that (sometimes only apparent) security – inevitably activates many fears.

I know this path of relating to professional fear very well, both from personal experience and from my roles as mentor and supervisor for early-career psychologists, and I know how paralyzing it can be. However, it was not only the uncertainty of entering the world of solopreneurship that was difficult, but also the awareness that, once leaving the school environment, the meaningful relationships I had built there – with dear people in whom I had invested time and energy – would diminish in frequency and intensity. For me, high-quality interpersonal relationships are one of the central values of my life.

What helped me make the transition from a predictable to a more unpredictable environment were several essential resources.

Personal resources – my organized internal structure and my willingness to work. I was not afraid of effort; on the contrary, at times I may have worked too much to compensate for the apparent insecurity of freelance life. However, I did so in a structured and organized way, which significantly increased the quality of my work.

Professional competencies – my international specializations and taking on the role of trainer for other psychologists greatly strengthened my confidence in my professional skills.

Solid, diverse, and sometimes challenging clinical practice gained during my years working in the school environment significantly reduced my fears regarding complex cases in private practice. I managed these situations much more easily once people began coming to my office. It was easier to work with clients already motivated for change or with parents seeking psychological services for their children from a place of awareness and genuine concern, rather than from conditioning or denial, as often happened in the school setting. This essential factor in therapeutic progress – client motivation – represents approximately 15% of therapeutic success, alongside another 15% supported by the quality of the therapeutic relationship. Thus, my private work reached a different level of depth and quality.

External resources – family support, financial stability at that stage of my life, and the fact that I was not yet a parent and therefore did not feel direct responsibility for another soul. This aspect can sometimes complicate or even block major professional decisions.

C&B: Is there a dream or ambition that has always guided you, regardless of obstacles?

Andreea Abe Adebowale: Yes, my dream of opening a psychotherapy training school for children and their families, recognized worldwide as a therapeutic approach, is an old and deeply rooted one in my professional journey. This dream has its roots in France, in my work alongside one of my trainers and mentors, who offered me my first authentic model of relational psychotherapy, not only through the training process but also through his own human model.

Ken Evans, the founder of the integrative relational therapeutic approach, told me many years ago, during a psychotherapy camp organized at his farm in France, that he was proud of me and happy to see that I would carry integrative relational psychotherapy forward in Europe. That seed, planted by Ken at the beginning of my career, grew over time and took stable form once I clarified my professional niche: therapeutic work with children and their families.

This direction became the trunk of my professional tree, and the multiple national and international specializations are the branches that supported and developed it. The fruits of this stable and well-rooted tree can be seen today in my work as a trainer within the training school of the APRICAS Association, a professional training association accredited by the Romanian College of Psychologists, founded in 2025. From these “fruits,” generations of psychologists who will become psychotherapists – both in Romania and internationally – are nourished.

C&B: What did you look like at the beginning of your journey, and how do you feel you have transformed up to the present?

Andreea Abe Adebowale: At the beginning of my journey, I was like a leaf in the wind. I was carried wherever the wind took me, without clarity or direction. However, as valuable mentors appeared in my life and my intense work in all these directions deepened, confusion disappeared and gradually transformed into ability, competence, and vision. Especially after I clarified my niche and began pursuing highly specialized training courses, everything started to flow naturally.

C&B: If we were to meet your team or collaborators, what do you think they would say about you?

Andreea Abe Adebowale: They would say that I am an extremely hardworking, structured, and organized person, sometimes with a directive leadership style, yet equally centered on high-quality interpersonal relationships. They would also say that my professional vision and mission for the coming years are clear and that I have the capacity to bring alongside me people with similar visions and values. They might add that sometimes I tend to want control and turn into a “parent” who scolds, but that I am able to reposition myself and transform situations into play – a process that makes me more flexible and brings me back into authentic contact and relationship.

C&B: What is the most important decision you have made that changed your trajectory?

Andreea Abe Adebowale: The moment I accepted the professional role of trainer for psychologists who wish to become psychotherapists, initially within the Romanian Association of Integrative Psychotherapy and later in my own practice, represented a turning point in my career. Teaching others, translating for psychotherapists in training what I was already doing in my clinical practice with children, adolescents, families, and adults, brought a significant deepening of the quality of my own work as a practitioner.

When you teach others about your own practice, your clinical skills inevitably refine. At the same time, taking on the role of supervisor – another essential professional role – accelerated the growth of my competencies. I became a better psychotherapist and clinical psychologist by integrating these roles.

Simultaneously exercising the roles of practitioner, trainer, and supervisor also allowed me to shape a clear vision of what the structure and curriculum of a training school dedicated to psychologists who wish to become child and family psychotherapists should look like. This vision formed the foundation of the training school that took shape last year and whose training groups began this year, with significant success.

C&B: What types of therapies, programs, or interventions do you offer, and for whom are they specifically designed?

Andreea Abe Adebowale: I offer psychological assessment services for all age categories, but what differentiates this service is that psychological assessments for children and adolescents are complex and always conducted within the context of the parent–child attachment relationship and the family system. In addition to standardized instruments such as questionnaires and psychological tests, I use expressive-creative techniques, play techniques, and methods for assessing family interactions through play. These tools provide complex and in-depth perspectives on the psychological difficulties clients present with.

I also offer integrative relational psychotherapy and play therapy services, individually or in groups, addressed to children, adolescents, parents, families, the parent–child attachment relationship, as well as adults within adult therapy.

In recent years, I have worked extensively with parents, offering relational parental counseling, a therapeutic process that means much more than psychoeducation or parenting advice. It supports parents in understanding and sustaining themselves better in this role, starting from the roots of their own experiences of being raised and from the relational model in which they currently function.

For my fellow professionals, I offer professional training, supervision, and mentoring services, especially for those who wish to specialize in therapeutic work with children, adolescents, parents, and families.

C&B: How did the APRICAS Association come into being, and what motivated you to create a space dedicated to training psychotherapists for children and families?

Andreea Abe Adebowale: The Association for Integrative Relational Psychotherapy of the Child, Adolescent, and Family System – APRICAS – was legally established in 2025, but its roots lie in my entire formative journey and in the often solitary and self-directed path of becoming a psychotherapist for children, adolescents, parents, and families. Although I completed numerous training programs both nationally and internationally to specialize in this niche, it required significant effort, mistakes, and sometimes detours before reaching the therapeutic interventions best suited for my clients.

This difficult path was largely due to the lack of a coherent and structured therapeutic model from the beginning. I had to constantly test, add new elements to the initial model, and reformulate it each time I completed a new training. This continuous recalibration inevitably brought confusion and lost time. However, from this intense process emerged a profound clarity about what a well-constructed training program should look like: how it should be adapted to the early years of practice of future child and family psychotherapists and what concrete tools should be offered to ease their work and reduce the confusion specific to this stage, while maintaining high therapeutic quality from the very first cases.

Later, during the years in which I supervised psychotherapists in Romania trained in various therapeutic approaches, I observed the limits of many existing training programs on the Romanian market. This experience further clarified what a solid and coherent training program should contain – something that materialized in the current structure of the long-term training offered by the APRICAS Association. The program teaches psychotherapists to work with at least four types of clients associated with child therapy: the child or adolescent, the parents, the parent–child attachment relationship, and the entire family system, offering them a structured and coherent case conceptualization and therapeutic planning model for each type of client.

In addition, the short-term training programs include courses on specific and essential topics for therapeutic practice, with a clear emphasis on direct applicability in the therapy office, not only on theory, as still frequently happens in many specialization courses on the Romanian market.

Because these roots were clear and well structured, the right people naturally gathered around me. The Association was founded together with two fellow practitioners, Giulia Negură and Victor Toriani Gorea, and later we built a team of experienced psychotherapist trainers who accompany our current and future trainees throughout their formative process.

C&B: What does a typical day look like for you now, and which moments of the day bring you the greatest satisfaction?

Andreea Abe Adebowale: At present, I divide my time in a balanced way between my professional and personal roles. I work three to four days a week, and the rest of the time I spend at home, enjoying my role as the mother of a two-year-old boy and as a wife, as I felt the need to extend my maternity leave as much as possible.

On working days, I wake up early, handle administrative matters, and then try to settle emotionally, cognitively, and spiritually for the day through meditation or self-regulation techniques. Afterwards, I work with my clients, supervisees, or trainees, mainly online.

On the days I am at home, I wake up before my family and handle any remaining work-related matters so they do not “steal” from the time dedicated to my family. Then my son wakes up and spends some time in my arms – a moment of connection that naturally brings me back into my role as a mother. From there, we enter the daily routine and simply live our lives.

Satisfaction appears in both worlds and their specific roles, especially in moments when I access a state of gratitude for all the good things in my life: for my health, for my capacity to work on all levels, for my family, for the privileges I have built over time and for which, although I work hard, I have the strength to maintain and amplify in my life.

C&B: What values or principles guide you in what you do, and how do you apply them daily?

Andreea Abe Adebowale: My central value is continuous learning. I believe that human life has the role of offering us constant lessons and learning experiences, and our responsibility is to receive them and extract as much meaning and knowledge from them as possible.

I am also guided by adaptation, collaboration, and co-creation with others, as well as authenticity and love. As I have matured personally and professionally, these values have become an integral part of the way I function; they manifest naturally in my daily life, without the need for conscious effort or special actions to apply them.

C&B: How do you adapt therapeutic interventions for different individual needs – from anxiety or stress to emotional blockages?

Andreea Abe Adebowale: The multiple therapeutic approaches in which I am trained allow me to create individualized therapeutic intervention programs. I personalize them according to a series of variables that I call “client moderating factors” – aspects such as the client’s age, the issue for which intervention was requested, the time available for the therapeutic process, the individual’s resources or those of the system they belong to, as well as other relevant elements.

At the same time, I also take into account “therapist moderating factors,” which include my level of experience with the respective clinical issue, the most appropriate therapeutic approach, and the possibility of working within an inter- or multidisciplinary team.

Andreea Abe Adebowale’s professional journey is shaped at the intersection of clinical rigor, deep personal development, and the courage to follow her vision even in times of uncertainty. From early confusion to the clarity of an assumed mission, each stage has contributed to a strong professional identity centered on relationship, authenticity, and continuous learning.

Daniel Sârbu, General Manager of Tassid Holding and Medussa LSC, shares his entrepreneurial journey, the defining moments that reshaped his direction, and his vision of building a Romanian company of European scale in the refrigeration industry.

Daniel Sârbu is the General Manager of both Tassid Holding and Medussa LSC. In the first company, he is co-founder alongside his wife, Dorina Sârbu; in the second, he is the sole founder and shareholder. Tassid Holding is an authorized refrigeration company, while Medussa LSC specializes in more complex construction works, specifically preventing accidental rockfalls onto roads through scaling works, installation of mesh, barriers, and similar solutions. Both companies have over 10 years of activity.

He was born in the city of Brăila, raised in Slobozia (Ialomița) due to his parents’ jobs, and shaped professionally in Western Europe, more precisely in Italy, from where he returned after seven years. That was the moment he chose Sibiu as his new home. After completing his high school studies at Liceul Mihai Eminescu, qualifying as a mechanical locksmith, in 2016 he decided to study Communication and Public Relations at ULBS. In 2019, he graduated with his degree. He believes that knowing how to communicate is more important than anything else.

Today, at 45 years old, he is the father of two young boys (4 and 7 years old). His entrepreneurial journey began in September 2008. With no clear idea of what he was doing, he only knew that he had to do something—somehow—to work for himself. He survived, fought, and learned—perhaps at too high a cost—how to become an entrepreneur. But he would not change a thing.

He comes from a large family with four siblings, two girls and two boys. He himself was an accident, as he was not planned, which is why there is a decade between him and his eldest sister. The other siblings are one year apart from each other. He was saved by Ceaușescu’s decree that banned abortion. He believes he is the sum of accidents or circumstances, so to speak.

C&B: If we were to look at a narrative thread of your career, what were the key moments that defined you?

Daniel: Only now am I beginning to realize what the key moments of the past 18 years have been.

There was the moment when I accidentally entered the cleaning services field (a sector I remained in until 2025, when I sold the company that was still providing those services). I say accidentally because that is truly how it happened. I was the president of the homeowners’ association in the building where I lived (a role I took on simply because, among all the neighbors, I had the most free time), and the administrator suggested that I add a cleaning activity code to my rent-a-car company and hire the cleaning staff myself, who were being paid by the association. I still have the notebook where I kept track of the accounts and the money I had to add from my own pocket each month in order to pay all the bills.

Another defining moment was in 2015, when the landline phone rang at the company. I remember that moment even today. With the help of a local rope-access company, we had carried out some façade surface cleaning works and posted them on Facebook for advertising. On the other end of the line, a voice introduced itself and then asked if we also did slope scaling works. Considering that he mentioned he was calling from DRDP Iași (Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges), I answered without hesitation: YES. I had never heard the term before. But in my mind, something had always told me how valuable public contracts could be. I had that belief because I used to read about those executing road works. Since it was related to roads and also connected to our experience with rope-access technicians, I answered without hesitation.

A few months and two Nurofen Forte tablets later, I won my first tender for this type of work. I remember that I only had enough money for one night of accommodation when I went to the tender (it required physical presence and a sealed envelope), so I had to sleep in my car before starting the eight-hour drive home. Today, Medussa LSC exists and does exactly that. I proudly say that in 10 years we have cleaned around one million square meters of mountainside rock (the procedure is called scaling and comes from the fact that the main tool is a metal bar). And there is something else very important: the people. The vast majority of them have been with us since we started in 2015.

The last and most important moment is relatively recent, in December 2022, three or four days before Christmas. As every year, I was loading the car to go to my parents’ home in Brăila County for the holidays. In short, during a two- or three-minute call, I received the news that starting the following March, a series of cleaning and related services contracted with our main client at the time would disappear. With that call, over 40% of my business vanished. It was a shock that left me speechless for the next six hours of driving.

The next day, I held a video call with the team at that time. I told them that this was probably the best thing that could have happened to us and that this kick would finally set us in motion. It may sound unrealistic, but that was the conclusion I reached then and still stand by today. And it proved true. Because in March 2023, that same client completely changed our destiny—something both my team and I are grateful for today.

What they did was tell us that they could somehow manage the cleaning services, but they needed someone to carry out periodic preventive maintenance (they still call it cleaning ) on refrigerated display cases and freezer rooms. I asked them for the technical specifications so we could understand what it involved. That was when I saw the new opportunity I had referred to in the December call with the team. I said, let’s see what we are capable of—and we succeeded. Then they asked us to try refurbishing accessories for such display cases. We accepted again.

Today, Tassid Holding is a company offering complete services in design, execution, trade, and repair services in the refrigeration industry, with tens of thousands of hours of preventive and corrective maintenance for refrigerated display cases, freezer rooms, and other refrigeration equipment and units. Not to mention the thousands of square meters of accessories refurbished in these three years of activity in the new field.

C&B: What personal or professional context pushed you toward entrepreneurship?

Daniel: First of all, it is worth mentioning that I have had entrepreneurship on my mind since I was a teenager. I still have notebooks where I wrote what could generously be called business plans at the age of 14. I was always stressed whenever I walked past the building notice board and saw that we were behind on maintenance payments.

Then came the time when Romanians were migrating in large numbers, and I aligned myself with that trend, forced by circumstances. In Italy, a former colleague who handled our salaries told me that “I am not made to work for someone less capable than me.” To this day, I do not know what truly prompted her to say that. Perhaps because I was constantly coming up with ideas about how to improve the harsh work processes—we were processing raw materials, specifically cowhide. As harsh as it may sound, I am just quoting her. And I worked very hard until about four years ago, when I had accumulated enough experience to truly become an entrepreneur.

C&B: Is there a dream or ambition that has always guided you, regardless of obstacles?

Daniel: Yes. To leave behind a company of at least European scale in this country. A company that will feel at home in every European country. To be the first option when it comes to refrigeration. To have employees so well paid that a visitor could not tell, from the cars in our parking lot, who is the employer and who is the employee.

C&B: What were you like at the beginning of your journey, and how do you feel you have transformed?

Daniel: Like someone walking through fog—sometimes speeding recklessly, other times moving with fear. Today I know what I have to do, where I am heading, and more importantly, all my employees, partners, and clients know it too. We all know what we do and why we do it. I believe such clarity is the key to earned success—success that will seem overnight to many.

What am I like today? Calmer, more prepared, more determined, more informed, with strategy and short- and medium-term plans. I feel comfortable in this segment of the industry that chose me. A segment I intend to study for at least another decade. I deviate less from direction, and I can say that I have lost quite a lot of money for life to teach me lessons of immeasurable value. I listen and I read. Eighteen years ago, I only worked, talked, and read very little. I recommend “Pollyanna,” a small book that changed my perspective on happiness.

C&B: If we met your team or collaborators, what do you think they would say about you?

Daniel: Good question. I like to believe they light candles for me on the 7th . I realize they trust that I will do what is necessary when they need me. That I represent them with honor and pride. And I hope they adopt our vision as fully as possible—to be the first option in refrigeration, in all European countries, as I have said before.

They would probably say I am curious, that I do not take life too seriously, but that they can rely on me. It is a difficult question because it forces me to speculate, and I have a line from a movie: “Don’t speculate if you’re not a researcher.”

C&B: What is the most important decision you made that changed your trajectory?

Daniel: To give up the multitude of services and specialize in something specific—and there, to be the best. When we realized that the refrigeration industry suited us best, that we liked it and could give our very best here. Progress is neither linear nor painless, but we constantly learn and continuously raise our quality standards. We have a motto that binds us and that we take very seriously: “We Ensure Food Safety.”

C&B: How would you describe Tassid today, in a few words, to someone hearing about it for the first time?

Daniel: Tassid Holding specializes in design, execution, trade, and preventive and corrective services in the refrigeration industry. In three years, it has gained experience in almost everything encountered in this field: climate chambers, HVAC systems, air conditioning, refrigerated display cases, cold rooms, design, execution, sales of professional or hobby equipment, including refurbishment and production of accessories for refrigerated display cases. It is also a company with a store offering the general public over 15,000 products in the horeca, industrial, and commercial ranges.

C&B: What differentiates Tassid from other initiatives in the same market segment?

Daniel: Proactivity and after-sales service. At Tassid, we focus on proper equipment maintenance—preventive maintenance is the correct term. We do not base our revenues on repair interventions. We provide any type of intervention, but once we reach a client, our first recommendation is constant monitoring of the equipment that generates their income and periodic maintenance.

Our mission is to eliminate the headache caused by equipment breakdowns, which usually happen at the most inconvenient times. We understood that we must help the client focus on what makes them money, not on firefighting micro-management that consumes time, money, and creates stress.

Preventive maintenance has multiple equally important roles: reducing electricity consumption, extending equipment lifespan (which is expensive to acquire), successfully passing surprise inspections by authorities, complying with European environmental standards, and protecting the health of employees who breathe the air circulated by these systems—whether in offices, factories, commercial spaces, or even residential areas.

As far as I know, we currently operate the only workshop in Romania dedicated to refurbishing metal accessories for refrigerated display cases. Another major advantage is that through our technicians and collaborators, we cover any need nationwide. Mobility and flexibility. We travel throughout the country and even work night shifts so as not to interfere with our clients’ operations.

C&B: What does a typical day look like for you now, and what moments bring you the most satisfaction?

Daniel: Drinking coffee with my colleagues, discussing what happened and what is coming next. Talking about how a situation was resolved or what new technology has appeared. I enjoy spending time with them; however, I have trained them to politely tell me to go away if I interfere with their work. I learned from others who have walked this path before that people need answers to WHAT and WHY—not HOW. That is their job.

It has been and still is difficult for me, but since I have disciplined myself in this regard, it feels like I discovered engine oil—the whole thing runs smoothly.

C&B: What values or principles guide you in what you do, and how do you apply them daily?

Daniel: The truth is the easiest thing to remember. Respect is earned. We hire character first and foremost. People are the most important. I do not have a crystal ball to know what you are thinking, so speak up. Failure is mine; success belongs to the team. The way I apply them is simply my way of being.

C&B: How did the idea of Tassid appear, and what real market problem did you want to solve when you started?

Daniel: Tassid was a wordplay and, at that time, as can be understood now, it was meant to solve my dissatisfaction with my personal and financial situation. In 2008, when I had just returned to the country and had no idea what I would do, I remember sitting at a terrace in Piața Mare with friends who were talking about the inconveniences tourists faced when visiting Sibiu and Romania. There were not enough cars available for rent. So I decided to start a rent-a-car business, which I gave up in 2014. I wish the answer were more inspirational, but the truth is the easiest thing to remember.

C&B: Is there a difficult moment or failure that redefined the way you lead the business?

Daniel: I believe I have already answered this point. It refers to December 2022, which I detailed earlier. Another difficult moment was juggling the company’s liquidity needs. It was practically a crisis. This need arose from two reasons: first, growth—which is good—and second, debts that are slowly being covered from past activity.

Liquidity is a topic in itself. But yes, both the 2022 moment and the liquidity crisis redefined the way I manage the business.

Daniel Sârbu’s story is not about overnight success, but about clarity built over time, bold decisions, and the courage to turn crises into opportunities.

An interview with Darius Eneea Mârza on vision, faith, and the creation of Wonderland Cluj — a project built through hard work, perseverance, and the desire to bring people together through meaningful experiences.

C&B: How would you describe yourself in a single sentence, in a way that would spark the curiosity of those who do not yet know you?
Darius Eneea Mârza: The skillful instrument of God through which He managed to build the largest resort in Romania with divine energy, in order to make the world happier, more fulfilled, and better.

C&B: If we were to look at a narrative thread of your career or business, which were the key moments that defined you?
Darius Eneea Mârza: The first moment was when, at 18, I opened my first restaurant. Then, in 2012, with only 500 euros, I started building Wonderland on marshy land, under conditions so harsh they were truly unimaginable. That is where it all began. Wonderland did not appear overnight — it was built through daily work, constant reinvestment, and faith that we would succeed. Another important moment was the launch of Wonder Family Fest — when we truly took on the mission of promoting family unity as the most important thing for a healthy, good, and stable society.

C&B: What were the main challenges in opening and developing a hotel and a resort in Romania?
Darius Eneea Mârza: Everything was a challenge: from the lack of infrastructure and utilities to the unstable land. But the hardest battle was with bureaucracy: permits and zoning plans. And let us not forget that the workforce was and remains a major challenge.

C&B: Is there a dream or an ambition that has always guided you, regardless of obstacles?
Darius Eneea Mârza: I have dreamed my entire life, but what matters most is that every morning when I woke up, I did not stop until I saw each vision materialized and implemented. God whispers to us, He offers us fulfillment and the power to overcome any obstacle, as well as the energy needed to bring every inspired project to completion, no matter how complex or intangible it may seem to the human mind. But we have the duty to work and to persevere. I have always felt that I was created to succeed in making society better and, through me, to promote the profound virtues that truly matter in life.

C&B: What were you like at the beginning of your journey, and how do you feel you have transformed up to the present?
Darius Eneea Mârza: I was an active person, first and foremost correct, impatient, full of life, with initiative; I put my hand to anything without hesitation and without shying away from work, no matter how hard it was. Going through life, all hardships shaped me powerfully and strengthened me to the maximum, and thus I gained a great deal of wisdom and patience. Life’s trials strengthened my faith deeply, because each day felt like a miracle that I could, inexplicably, get through. Because I have lived and gone through so many experiences in life, of all kinds and on all levels, today I can advise, help, and motivate almost anyone I meet.

C&B: If we were to meet your team or collaborators, what do you think they would say about you?
Darius Eneea Mârza: In order for the answer to be as real and close to the truth as possible, without being subjective, I kept exactly the words of my colleague through whom you contacted me; I did not change even a single word of her statement:
They would probably say that I am a perfectionist, hard to please, and that I do not go home until I finish what I set out to do. But also that I put my heart into it, that I do not shy away from work, that I am present, and that I have a good memory — I know exactly what I told each person and what I promised.

C&B: What is the most important decision you have made that changed your trajectory?
Darius Eneea Mârza: The decision to take a 50,000-euro loan and leave home at 18 to open my first restaurant, even though everyone was against it, including my parents. From that moment on, my entire life I chose to follow my vision, even when everyone told me it was impossible. It was, in fact, an act of faith, through which my whole life I have entered through the single door that was open at every moment.

C&B: How do you manage to create memorable experiences for guests and maintain high hospitality standards?
Darius Eneea Mârza: There are no shortcuts; everything I have built at Wonderland is based on the motto “Our client, our master,” and I believe in it with my entire being. Everything we do here is meant to ensure that all the people we come into contact with are fully satisfied with our services. We put ourselves in the place of those who come to us, and we make no compromises when it comes to quality and integrity.

C&B: What sets Wonderland Cluj apart from other resorts and hotels in Romania?
Darius Eneea Mârza: Wonderland is a corner of heaven, a mini wonderland, a divine place, God’s reference project in Romania. A location where, if you are open in mind and soul, you can fill yourself with grace and energy, with a breathtaking view over the city, in the heart of nature, bordered by forest on two sides, which is why the air is extremely clean. It feels as if you were hundreds of kilometers away from the city, yet you are only 5.5 km from the center of Cluj. We have everything: relaxation, adrenaline, gastronomy, events, and, above all, soul.

C&B: What does a typical day look like for you now, and which moments of the day bring you the greatest satisfaction?
Darius Eneea Mârza: A hard question, because my day lasts about 96 hours . About once every 4–5 days I manage to sleep around 4 hours; the rest of the night I read all my emails, check everything related to operations, and when I lie stretched out in bed, every 10 minutes I pick up my phone and write ideas in my notes, which are the homework for the next day. What I enjoy most is seeing children running through the resort, families smiling, people relaxing; that is when I feel fulfilled, knowing that I am not sacrificing myself continuously without results.

C&B: What values or principles guide you in what you do, and how do you apply them day by day?
Darius Eneea Mârza: I live by the highest principles, solely to strengthen my values and virtues, because the only thing we will take with us after death is our character, the humanity with which we lived our lives; these are the core traits of the soul, which is the only thing that will endure for eternity. Concretely, I strive every day to be a little more humble compared to the previous day; I make no compromises, I do not lie, I have never stolen, I have never owed anyone a single leu, I have never cheated, and I do my utmost to be as upright as possible. I struggle tirelessly to keep my earthly nature in check, because only in this way can you be a complete leader. I do everything I can to help everyone who crosses my path, I love everyone, I force myself to look only at the positive sides of my fellow humans, I strive as much as possible to be calm and conciliatory, but firmly, not to swear and not to gossip about anyone. In one single sentence: everything I do passes through God’s filter, meaning with a great deal of love for my neighbor.

C&B: How did Wonderland Cluj come to life, and what inspired you to start this hotel resort?
Darius Eneea Mârza: Ever since I was young I have loved nature and I am obsessed with views; moreover, at 18, after opening my first restaurant between apartment blocks, where neighbors filed monthly complaints that we were disturbing them with music, I wanted to develop something “in the middle of nowhere,” without neighbors. All my life I searched for a location that would tick these boxes, and in parallel I had paid advances in about five different places, on every hilltop around the city. After 10 years of hard work to overcome heavy bureaucracy, I managed to obtain the first building permit here, where Wonderland is now, and I no longer kept the other plots on the hills of Cluj.

C&B: What advice would you give to entrepreneurs who want to invest in tourism and hospitality in Romania?
Darius Eneea Mârza: First of all, to work to the maximum, to be extremely fair with everyone, especially with clients, to do everything in their power to ensure the client leaves satisfied, to do things with quality, to be willing to live in discomfort and supreme sacrifice in order to fulfill their dream and reach the potential they were created with, to be the kind of people who are good at everything and who put their hand to anything; they must know how to do whatever is needed in their own business so as not to be at anyone’s mercy. They should never forget that any kick in the backside is a step forward, and that nothing in life is accidental, and from every event we must extract a major lesson. They should not be materialistic and should not think about money first, but push their limits ever higher. They should not forget that God gives and God takes away, when He considers it necessary to reset or strengthen you. They should not fear bankruptcy, because in any case we take nothing material with us; what matters is to be upright and ambitious, in order to bring their project to completion. Every new beginning will come with more wisdom, and they will reach farther each time.
They should not seek quick success. They should put their heart into it, understand people, and be present in their business. They should build in a healthy way, step by step, and have patience. They should believe in their idea, even if at the beginning it seems impossible. And above all, they should be there — with their hands, their minds, and their hearts.

Darius Eneea Mârza’s story is one of courage, faith, and the responsibility to build with purpose. Beyond the scale of a resort, Wonderland Cluj reflects a deeper vision about people, family, and community. It is a journey that shows success is not measured only in numbers, but in the impact you have on others and the values you choose to live by every day.

Roxana Maftei is the founder and majority shareholder of Farmacia Tei and Bebe Tei, a visionary entrepreneur who, through hard work, perseverance, and creativity, has succeeded in turning an idea into an innovative and trustworthy brand with a strong impact on Romania’s pharmaceutical market and the children’s products sector.

C&B: How would you describe yourself in a single sentence?

Roxana Maftei: I am an entrepreneur determined to create real value for people and society, through diversity, fairness, and high-quality services that inspire trust.

C&B: What were the key moments of your career?

Roxana Maftei: A defining moment was the decision to implement an innovative business model in a traditional and rigid sector. I chose to bring people closer to a wide range of products meant to meet as many needs as possible, to offer transparency by maintaining the same prices online and in physical locations, and to guarantee high-quality services. It was a challenging process, but the results speak for themselves.
A second essential step was the launch of Bebe Tei – a natural continuation of our mission to meet the needs of parents and children in Romania. Today, Bebe Tei has become a reference point in the minds of consumers, strengthening its position through its product diversity, consistent pricing online and offline, and specialized guidance, becoming everyone’s favorite store, whether they are parents or not.

Another important moment was the partnership with the Dedeman group, which confirmed the strength of the brand and opened a new stage of development.

C&B: What were the biggest challenges and how did you overcome them?

Roxana Maftei: I quickly realized that a healthy and sustainable business is built on people. One of the challenges was building a united, motivated, and stable team. I constantly invested in the relationship with employees and personally engaged in their well-being. The stability of the team is reflected in the quality of services we offer our patients and customers.

C&B: Did you have a dream or ambition that guided you?

Roxana Maftei: I always wanted to make a difference—not just to exist in numbers, but for people to resonate with what I build and for me to be truly close to them. Entrepreneurship is not only about numbers; it is about the impact on society. By placing people at the center of the business, I understood how to relate to them and built everything around this idea. This was reflected in our constant effort to offer a wide diversity of products, high-quality services, and transparency in pricing. Keeping people at the core of everything I build, I continued even when the numbers didn’t always look like in the textbooks.

C&B: What were you like at the beginning of your career and how have you transformed?

Roxana Maftei: In the beginning, I spent a lot of time among people and shelves—the first pharmacy was quite small, so I had the opportunity to understand patients’ needs and how they relate to the space. To speak their language, I had to understand what it meant to be on the other side of the counter.
I still try to be present in our locations as often as possible, although now I can say I intuit our patients’ needs, and my focus has shifted mainly toward strategy to improve access to what Farmacia Tei aims to offer. What has not changed is the passion, curiosity, and desire to share the values at the core of the business with as many people as possible.

C&B: What do you think your team would say about you?

Roxana Maftei: First, I think they would say that I am human. Just as I placed the people in front of the counters at the center of the business, my primary concern as an entrepreneur is for the people behind the counters and the entire team that makes Tei what it is. It is very important for everyone to feel included, respected, and appreciated. Of course, the reverse is also true: I expect respect, involvement, and appreciation from my team.

C&B: The most important decision you have made?

Roxana Maftei: I believe the decision that brought Farmacia Tei to where it is today was to remain true to my vision. It was challenging to build a business model so different from what existed on the market at that time, a model that in that socio-economic context may have been difficult to understand, yet people embraced it quite easily. This stubbornness to stay true to the values I wanted to bring to people allowed me to maintain authenticity and strengthen the image of Farmacia Tei.

C&B: How does Farmacia Tei influence the community?

Roxana Maftei: Farmacia Tei has become synonymous with accessibility and diversity. Through fair prices and a very wide range of products, we have created a standard of transparency and respect for patients and customers. Moreover, the constant investment in our team and its stability ensures that the experience we offer the community is positive, long-lasting, and continuously improving.

C&B: What differentiation strategies do you use in the pharmaceutical market?

Roxana Maftei: Our strategy is based on several key elements: price transparency, a huge diversity of products, and high-quality services provided by our employees. In addition, a unique element of fairness is our pricing policy: prices are the same regardless of the channel (online or offline) or the city where the customer is. This consistency conveys respect and strengthens trust in the Tei brand.

C&B: What does a typical day look like for you?

Roxana Maftei: I believe any day can be defined by two words: involved and present. Any decision I make—management, financial, or operational—I make it involved and present, considering (I hope) all variables that could arise. I like to believe I end each day with the satisfaction that I have done my best every time.

C&B: What values guide you?

Roxana Maftei: The values that define me as a human being also define the Tei business: fairness, respect, transparency, care, and passion. I believe Farmacia Tei has become what it is today—a benchmark of good faith and transparency—because every decision I made was based on these values. The team I created and shaped was also built around these values, and this can be seen in the loyalty of the patients and customers who choose us.

C&B: How did the idea of Farmacia Tei come to life?

Roxana Maftei: Farmacia Tei entered the market to meet people’s need for decent prices and quality services. As time passed and expansion became imminent, we began to offer an increasingly wide range of products, and this is how the concept of a large-format pharmacy was born. In 2019, we opened in the Bucharest neighborhood of Rahova the location that remains our largest so far, with a total area of 2,200 square meters. What we can say now is that we plan to surpass ourselves and open at least one more location with an even larger surface.

C&B: What long-term plans and objectives do you have for Farmacia Tei?

Roxana Maftei: Our goal is to strengthen the brand and continue to develop it both offline and online, without compromising the values that brought us here. We plan to open new locations in Ploiești and Focșani and in several other major cities (county capitals) in 2026.

Through her vision and perseverance, Roxana Maftei has succeeded in redefining how Romanians relate to the concept of a pharmacy and to the idea of trust in local brands.

An inspiring interview with Florin Cristian Ghivnici, founder of Case Smart and creator of the Luxion brand, exploring his vision in the smart home industry, innovation, leadership, and the evolution of a Romanian business toward international expansion.

Florin Cristian Ghivnici, founder of Case Smart and creator of the Luxion brand, is a visionary entrepreneur from Bacău, dedicated to developing accessible, elegant, and reliable smart home solutions that transform the way people interact with their homes.

C&B: If we were to look at the narrative thread of your career, what have been the key moments that defined you?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: There were several decisive milestones that shaped my direction. The first important moment was when I understood that technology could become not just a tool, but a lifestyle. The second major stage was the launch of Case Smart, which confirmed to me that the Romanian market was ready for a professional approach in the smart home field. The third moment came with the creation of Luxion — my own brand of glass electrical fittings, into which I placed attention, design, quality, and a philosophy fit for the future: intelligent yet discreet technology.

C&B: What has been the most difficult moment so far in your journey, and how did you overcome it?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: The hardest moment was the period when I had to choose between staying in a comfort zone or taking a bold step toward entrepreneurship on my own. I overcame that phase through consistency, through the good people around me, and through the firm belief that a modern home deserves high-quality technology accessible to everyone. The logistical, financial, or technical challenges eventually became essential lessons.

C&B: Is there a dream or ambition that has guided you throughout, regardless of obstacles?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: I have always been driven by the desire to build something long-term. Not a store, not just a brand, but an ecosystem. My dream is for Luxion to become the Romanian reference name in Europe when we talk about touch switches, premium fittings, and smart home solutions. And for Case Smart to be the place where people find trust, consultancy, and durable solutions.

C&B: What were you like at the beginning of your journey, and how do you feel you’ve transformed since then?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: In the beginning, I had enthusiasm but less structure. Today, things look completely different: I have a clear direction, a united team, and a consolidated brand built with hard work and attention to detail. My transformation was possible not only through the experience I gained but also thanks to the people who stood by me. My wife, Ana Maria, has always been a constant anchor of balance and real support in important decisions.

Today, I consider myself a mature leader, attentive to quality, to people, and to the way a product’s values are conveyed and respected.

C&B: If we were to meet your team or collaborators, what do you think they would say about you?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: They would probably say that I am passionate about technology, friendly, demanding when necessary, but fair. That I put passion into everything I do and that when I promise something, it gets done. They would also say, I believe, that for me “it’s not possible” doesn’t exist — only “we haven’t yet found the right solution”.

C&B: What is the most important decision you’ve made that changed your trajectory?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: The decision to create Luxion, my own brand. It was the point at which I was no longer just selling products but starting to define them, design them, and improve them. Essentially, it was the moment I transitioned from commerce to innovation.

C&B: Can a house be 100% automated? Is there a limit to current technology, or does it depend more on the user’s openness?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: Technologically speaking, yes — a house can be 100% automated. The limits do not come from technology but from the user’s needs and openness. Today we can control lights, blinds, climate, cameras, audio systems, security, and much more, including remotely. However, good automation is the one that serves the person, not overwhelms them.

C&B: What are the most in-demand smart home solutions in Romania, and how has customer behavior changed in recent years?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: Romanians have become very oriented toward comfort and energy efficiency. The most requested solutions are: glass touch switches — where Luxion is highly appreciated; smart outlets; lighting and scenario control systems; blind and curtain automation; security systems; climate control and consumption monitoring. Customer behavior has matured significantly.

C&B: What does a typical day look like for you now, and which moments bring you the greatest satisfaction?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: My day starts early, with a balanced routine and checking ongoing projects. It continues with communication with suppliers, clients, the team, and with optimizing Luxion products. The greatest satisfaction comes when I receive direct feedback — when a client tells me that the chosen solution changes the way they live in their own home.

C&B: What does a “complete smart home project” mean to you, from the first discussion with the client to implementation?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: A complete project means real consultancy, design, professional implementation, perfect integration, and educating the client. Technology must be invisible yet present.

C&B: What inspired you to launch case-smart.ro, and when did you realize that smart home solutions would become a necessity rather than a luxury?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: I launched Case Smart when I realized that people wanted comfort and safety at home without complications. Smart homes shifted from luxury to necessity when energy prices increased and efficiency became an essential topic.

C&B: What important objective do you want to achieve as soon as possible in the evolution of your business?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: The main objective is the consolidation and expansion of the Luxion brand both in Romania, through our strategic partners, and internationally, through developing distribution networks in Italy, Hungary, and Spain. In parallel, I want to strengthen our position as a leader in the smart home industry and transform the Case Smart showrooms in Bacău and Iași into clear benchmarks for consultancy, design, and intelligent technology.

Florin Cristian Ghivnici’s journey proves that innovation, perseverance, and a deep commitment to quality can turn a vision into a strong, respected, and future-oriented brand. Case Smart and Luxion continue to redefine standards in the smart home industry, offering accessible, aesthetic, and intelligent solutions for modern homes.
