“Mapping the Green Future” project connects cities and communities through urban nature
Romanian hotel chain Continental Hotels has announced the winner of the first edition of its call for projects “Hotel as a Meeting Point Between People”: the Urban Nature Network Association, with its project “Mapping the Green Future: Urban Natural Areas for Communities.”
Launched in May 2025, the initiative invited creators, entrepreneurs, and independent organizations to propose cultural, social, or educational projects with community impact. The winner will receive one year of free accommodation in Continental Hotels properties, meals in partner restaurants, travel support, and media promotion.

“We wanted to identify authentic, sustainable projects with a real impact on communities. What the Urban Nature Network proposed perfectly fits this vision: it brings urban nature closer to people, creates meeting spaces for health and connection, and reminds us that cities can breathe through their green areas,” said Radu Enache, CEO of Continental Hotels.
A vision for greener, healthier cities
The “Mapping the Green Future” project will document and promote natural areas in Constanța, Suceava, Sibiu, and Târgu Mureș through mapping, photography, guided tours, and community consultations. More than 500 people are expected to participate directly, and thousands more will be reached through online and media campaigns.
“The call launched by Continental Hotels is more than a prize — it’s an opportunity to turn urban nature from an overlooked topic into a shared community asset,” said representatives of the Urban Nature Network.
Continental Hotels, a Romanian hospitality brand with 34 years of experience, operates 12 hotels and over 1,700 rooms in cities including Bucharest, Sibiu, Constanța, and Târgu Mureș, covering the luxury, business, and economy segments.
