Germany’s Rheinmetall AG is set to make Romania a key player in Europe’s defense industry. CEO Armin Papperger announced that the upcoming Rheinmetall Victoria SA plant, located near Brașov, will become the most advanced facility worldwide for producing double and triple-base propellant powders, crucial for modern artillery systems.
“Rheinmetall Victoria SA will be the most modern company in the world for producing double and triple-base powders. These materials are vital globally, especially in Europe, to support defense forces. We’ll produce around 200 tons of powder for local needs and 300,000 modular charges, ranking among the largest capacities worldwide,” Papperger said during a press conference at Victoria Palace, alongside Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.
