The retailer’s first gas-free warehouse powered by sustainable energy solutions
PENNY Romania has officially opened its new logistics center in Mihăilești, Giurgiu County, following a €35 million investment. The facility is the company’s first warehouse to operate entirely without gas heating, relying instead on heat pumps and waste heat recovery systems to ensure maximum energy efficiency and sustainability.
Spanning 22,000 square meters and employing around 200 people, the new logistics hub will serve 50 stores by the end of 2025, with plans to expand to 100 stores by 2027.
