Romanian producer Ada Solomon has been elected President of the Board of the European Film Academy for the 2026–2027 term, following a vote by the institution’s members. She takes over the role after serving six years as Vice President and after a long-standing involvement in the Academy’s leadership structure.
“Being part of the European Film Academy Board for a decade, I have taken on the responsibility of promoting excellence in cinema across the full diversity of European cinematic voices, while also shining a light on the less visible ones — smaller territories, underrepresented film forms, and behind-the-camera teams. This is a time of change, and I am ready to embrace the challenge knowing I have the support of the Academy’s executive team and the extraordinary people on the Board, especially the newly elected Vice Presidents, Leontine Petit and Matthieu Darras,” said Ada Solomon.
