JPMorgan CEO warns Europe’s weakness could impact the U.S. economy: “We need a long-term strategy to help them become strong”

Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co, the largest U.S. bank, has warned that Europe’s economic vulnerabilities could directly affect the United States. Speaking at the Reagan National Defense Forum, Dimon criticized Europe’s heavy bureaucracy and slow policymaking, according to Bloomberg.

“Europe has a problem. They do some wonderful things with their social safety nets, but they have driven away business, they have driven away investment, they have driven away innovation,” Dimon stated.
