Sibiu gets its first municipal hospital after taking over the Railway General Hospital

Local council approves transfer from the Ministry of Transport

The city of Sibiu now officially has its first municipal hospital, after the Local Council approved the transfer of the Spitalul General Căi Ferate Sibiu from state ownership and the authority of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure to the municipality’s administration.

The decision, initiated by Mayor Astrid Fodor, was adopted unanimously and represents a major milestone for Sibiu’s healthcare system, formally granting the city municipal hospital status.
