“Thanks to its superior quality, the first batch sold out quickly, becoming a flagship product within the 2025 Central and Eastern Europe Consumer Voucher Campaign,” the embassy said in a post published on its official Facebook page.
Representatives also noted that Republika was showcased at the China International Import Expo, where it drew the attention of several Chinese buyers. This interest has already translated into concrete cooperation intentions.
“The product has become a representative example of mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Romania,” the statement added.
The Republika brand is owned by I.D. Francesca Atelier SRL, a company based in Giurgiu. Although the company is currently undergoing insolvency proceedings, it reported revenues of over RON 5 million in 2024, up 29% year on year, while posting losses of more than RON 5.7 million.
Before entering China, Republika sunflower oil had already been exported to Spain and Malta.
