Continental Tires is developing a regional EMEA services center in Timișoara, set to create 150 new jobs, CEO Șerban Nicolescu announced at the “Continental. Industry with impact” event.
The center will provide services across IT, human resources, procurement, and other support functions. Initial hiring started in 2025, with operations to be hosted in the Continental Tower, which will undergo a EUR 15 million modernization.
Continental Tires is the largest employer in Timișoara and one of Romania’s earliest foreign direct investors. From this year, it remains the only local company within the new Continental group after exiting automotive activities, focusing solely on tire manufacturing.

Scale and performance
Continental Tires Romania reported EUR 800 million in revenue last year and employs over 3,000 people. Globally, the group runs 18 plants, with Romania hosting the fourth-largest by volume.
“Continental’s tire plant was among the first foreign direct investments in Romania in 1999 and stands as an example of resilience, overcoming barriers, and cooperation with the local community,” said Șerban Nicolescu.
