Romanian tour operator Christian Tour announced major investments in technology, shifting from a traditional tour operator model to a technology-driven OTA (Online Travel Agency). The strategy includes launching a proprietary flight booking platform and expanding digital travel services.
“Christian Tour is no longer just a tour operator. Through our technology investments, we are becoming a technology company with applications and business in tourism. This paradigm shift will define the industry in the coming years,” said Cristian Pandel, founder and CEO.

The company will launch Vuelo.ro in the first quarter, a flight booking platform acting as an offer aggregator. It also introduced Travel Prime, Romania’s first travel subscription, offering discounts, exclusive deals, priority access to promotions, and dedicated support.
Incoming tourism as a “national project”
Christian Tour is also focusing on incoming tourism, which it describes as a key national project. The strategy aims to attract foreign tourists through tailored products, direct air connections via Animawings, and international digital promotion.
“Romania’s tourism potential has been discussed for too long without concrete results. A coherent incoming strategy is essential, and this is the most important tourism project of the last 35 years,” Pandel added.
In 2025, Christian Tour served nearly 400,000 customers, with top destinations including Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Spain, and Tunisia, alongside Romania. The company notes a growing preference for shorter, more frequent holidays among Romanian travelers.
