TAROM is updating its fare structure for domestic routes starting February 4, introducing the Light fare, a lower-priced option that does not include checked baggage. The new fare targets short-distance travelers who prefer to fly light, according to Agerpres.
The airline keeps its existing fares, which include checked baggage and greater flexibility, allowing passengers to choose between price and comfort. TAROM also notes that the updated rules make it easier to combine return tickets and domestic flights when planning an itinerary.

The Light fare is available only on domestic flights and depends on travel period and seat availability. Designed to offer the lowest possible price, the fare does not allow changes or refunds. It suits passengers who do not need checked baggage and prioritize lower upfront costs.
The update also introduces a “pay only for what you use” approach. Passengers who do not require checked baggage no longer pay for it. At the same time, return tickets can be combined across all domestic routes without restrictions.
“With this update, TAROM aims to deliver more accessible pricing, transparency, and clear options for passengers traveling within Romania, while better reflecting different travel styles,” the airline said.
