Nestlé posts 3.5% organic growth and sharpens portfolio strategy in 2025

Nestlé recorded 3.5% organic growth in 2025, driven by 0.8% real internal growth and a 2.8% pricing contribution, numbers presented in a press release. The company reported stronger momentum in the second half of the year despite persistent inflationary pressures.

Total sales reached CHF 89,490 million, compared to CHF 91,354 million in 2024, resulting in reported sales growth of -2.0%. Free cash flow stood at CHF 9.2 billion.

CEO Philipp Navratil said the performance “reflects the targeted actions taken in a difficult external environment” and highlighted positive RIG across all regions and categories. Marketing spending increased to 8.6% of sales, while cost-efficiency programs exceeded annual savings targets.

Nestlé continued reshaping its portfolio around four core business lines, prioritizing coffee, pet care and nutrition, which together account for around 70% of revenue. The Nutrition and Nestlé Health Science divisions were consolidated into a single operational unit.

European momentum and 4.8% growth in Romania

Organic growth in Europe reached 4.3%, with sales of CHF 17,581 million. Coffee and confectionery drove performance, while culinary products remained under competitive pressure. Q4 organic growth in the region stood at 4.4%.

In January 2026, Nestlé launched a precautionary global recall of certain infant formula batches after detecting cereulide, applying a 0.2 ng/g threshold, stricter than the EU’s 0.43 ng/g limit. The recall has been completed and production resumed, with the company confirming product safety.

Locally, Nestlé România achieved 4.8% organic growth in 2025.
