In Romania, Global Assistance Services, part of VIG, acts as a regional hub, coordinating operations for both the local market and the Republic of Moldova, contributing significantly to the network’s annual case volume.

“Surpassing the threshold of one million cases annually across the Global Assistance network confirms that assistance is no longer a complementary service, but a critical infrastructure within the modern insurance architecture… Our ambition is clear: to transform Global Assistance Romania into a regional benchmark in integrated assistance services and to actively contribute to strengthening Vienna Insurance Group’s position in South-Eastern Europe,” said Edip Amet, General Manager of Global Assistance Services Romania.

“We recognized early on how important it is to create added value through additional benefits alongside existing insurance coverage… By overseeing the entire value chain, we can significantly influence and continuously optimize service quality,” stated Gábor Lehel, Member of the Management Board and CIO of VIG.

The network includes 12 companies and more than 800 employees, operating across 18 countries from the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean. Infrastructure comprises over 4,500 tow trucks, 800 emergency vehicles, 25 ambulances, and a dedicated air ambulance aircraft.

VIG operates in 30 countries, employs around 30,000 people, serves 33 million customers, and holds an A+ rating with positive outlook from Standard & Poor’s.
