Romania’s state-owned nuclear energy producer Nuclearelectrica posted a net profit of RON 2.397 billion in 2025, marking a 40.4% increase compared to the previous year, according to a report submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). In 2024, the company recorded a net profit of RON 1.708 billion, as reported by Agerpres.
Operating revenues increased by 20% to RON 5.75 billion, up from RON 4.79 billion in 2024. The growth was mainly driven by a 20.7% rise in electricity sales revenues, which reached RON 5.59 billion.

Strong growth in EBITDA and operating result
EBITDA rose by 29.7% to RON 3.09 billion, while operating profit (EBIT) increased by 38.6%, reaching RON 2.37 billion.
Operating expenses, excluding depreciation, amortization and the Energy Transition Fund (CFTE) contribution, increased marginally by 1.7% to RON 2.15 billion. However, the contribution to the Energy Transition Fund surged by 74.7%, reaching RON 504.5 million.
Net financial result stood at RON 404.8 million, up 44.7%, supported by a 32.6% increase in financial income and a 34.8% decline in financial expenses. Corporate income tax expenses rose by 34% to RON 381.3 million.
Electricity production delivered by Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant to the National Energy System reached 10.115 million MWh in 2025, up 1% compared to 10.019 million MWh in 2024.
