The investment responds to growing demand for high-quality dairy products and the brand’s expansion across European markets.

Sustainability and technology investments

In addition to this expansion, the company has implemented several sustainability-focused initiatives:

  • a biogas extraction system from wastewater
  • a photovoltaic system to reduce energy consumption
  • environmentally friendly packaging solutions

Over the past five years, total investments in the Brașov facility have reached €70.7 million.

Innovation and local development

Olympus has introduced innovative packaging, including 100% recyclable r-PET bottles and yogurt cups with detachable labels to improve recycling.

The company also opened a local store in 2025, offering products at producer prices to the community.

Context

Hellenic Dairies, the parent group of Olympus, has over 25 years of activity in Romania. The Hălchiu plant, opened in 2011, serves both domestic and export markets.
