Auchan România expands renewable energy network to 40 locations via Auchan Renewable Energy

Auchan România is accelerating its green energy transition, reaching around 60% renewable energy across 40 locations through Auchan Renewable Energy, according to Revista Cariere.

Nationwide expansion

The network includes hypermarkets, supermarkets, and headquarters in Bucharest, as well as locations in cities like Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara and Constanța.

Integrated energy model

The initiative combines in-house energy production with procurement and supply through Auchan Renewable Energy.

Solar panels installed on store rooftops help reduce dependence on external sources and optimize energy use.

2030 target

The company aims to reach 100% renewable energy by 2030.

According to Cristian Drăghici, the model improves both energy efficiency and cost control.

Own production and logistics

Auchan România operates photovoltaic systems on 16 hypermarkets, generating significant volumes of green energy.

Renewable energy is also used in logistics operations, helping reduce the carbon footprint.

Strategic shift

Through Auchan Renewable Energy, the company has evolved into an integrated energy operator, gaining greater control over consumption and costs.
