Henri Coandă Airport to undergo upgrades: elevators, escalators and moving walkways to be replaced in €24 million project

Compania Națională Aeroporturi București (CNAB) has announced a major modernization project at Aeroportul Henri Coandă, targeting passenger transport infrastructure. The information was reported by Economedia.

The project includes replacing 19 elevators, 19 escalators, and 4 moving walkways, as well as upgrading accessibility infrastructure for passengers with reduced mobility by replacing two platforms and installing two additional ones.

Integrated monitoring system

The upgrade also includes an integrated monitoring system to track the performance of the new equipment in real time.

The total contract value amounts to RON 24.39 million.

Contract awarded to international consortium

The tender was won by a consortium led by TK Elevator Eastern Europe GmbH, together with TEKA Danes Instal, Mega Moni and Creative Home Construct.

Phased implementation over three years

The works will be carried out in phases over three years to minimize disruption for passengers.
