Incze Sándor, the general manager of M&Co. Training, has been shaping the adult training and HR consultancy market for over 18 years. M&Co. Training, one of the key players in the training market in Transylvania, has introduced numerous innovative solutions since 2006 to support the development of organizations. Under Sándor’s leadership, the company has built a stable team of trainers capable of achieving excellent results even in complex, multinational projects. With its client-centered approach and customized developments, M&Co. Training helps its clients operate more efficiently and gain a competitive edge. Sándor believes that continuous learning and development are necessary for success. In his opinion, the biggest mistake is relying on previous achievements.
C&B: When and how did your professional career begin?
Incze Sándor: My professional career started in 2002 with Dr. Merényi Attila, known as one of the pioneers of the training market in Hungary. Thanks to him, I had the opportunity to gain deep insight into the training industry and understand the differences between a training company that truly creates value and a regular service provider.
C&B: How do Co. Training’s services stand out, and why?
Incze Sándor: I have noticed that large training companies often need to standardize their services so that as many trainers as possible can apply them uniformly, without taking into account the client’s specific needs. In contrast, at M&Co. Training, we have always focused on offering personalized and efficient solutions to our clients. I founded the company 20 years ago, in 2004, and in 2006 we fully entered the Romanian market. I believe this period says something about us.
C&B: Give us more details!
Incze Sándor: Over these years, we have managed to build a team of experts capable of delivering high-quality training in various fields. I’m referring to leadership training, communication, sales techniques, and other soft skills. We pay special attention to outdoor team-building activities, with our own equipment (kayaks, canoes, rafting, bicycles, etc.) and experienced leaders. Our goal is to provide clients with experiences that not only develop their professional skills but also shape their personality.
C&B: Speaking of shaping, how did you imagine adult life as a child, and how do you see it now?
Incze Sándor: Since I was young, I dreamed of having my own business. Of course, apart from earlier dreams of being a guitarist, a famous painter, etc. Now, I don’t think I can talk about dreams anymore; I’ve realized it’s better to look at things realistically, and I would call them more like objectives. Professionally, my goal is for this business to run systematically without necessarily needing my presence.
C&B: How do you relate to principles, ideologies, and authenticity in your work?
Incze Sándor: Regarding the life and work principles I follow, I’d say trust those who seek the truth and doubt those who have already found it (Gidé). That’s why I’ve always avoided ideological thinking, manipulative religious movements, con artists selling miracle products, etc. For me, authenticity is important, even if in the short term it’s not always advantageous. As for work, I’ve learned that no result is guaranteed, and you should never relax.
C&B: Were you affected by the pandemic crisis, and how did you adapt?
Incze Sándor: The pandemic affected us greatly; training was practically banned. We had to reinterpret everything. Online. Team-building, everything. We were sending wine and coffee via couriers to participants and organizing online team-building sessions with wine or coffee tastings.
C&B: Can you share a funny situation from your work?
Incze Sándor: Looking at a funny situation from my experience, during one of my first negotiations, the client asked me in what sizes we sell training – he was referring to sports equipment, of course. This says a lot about the state of the training market at that time.
C&B: Do you have a phrase that convinces your clients?
Incze Sándor: Regarding a phrase that would convince a client, I’m not sure if there’s a specific one. The important thing is to be ourselves, with our mistakes and vulnerabilities. Then we are authentic. And then they will work with us.
C&B: What advice do you have for those who are just starting out?
Incze Sándor: As advice, I would say, embrace uncertainty, accept the fact that you’re at the beginning. Set goals and communicate them. You will be surprised by how many people are willing to help you.
C&B: As a society, do you think we’re on the right track?
Incze Sándor: Overall, I think we’re on the right track. We are continually learning lessons and will succeed in surviving and adapting to almost anything.
