C&B: How would you describe yourself in a single sentence, in a way that makes people who don’t know you yet curious?
Ovidiu Toader: I am an entrepreneurs’ coach, a long-term partner who helps you see with clarity, work with efficiency, and achieve exceptional results.

C&B: If we were to look at the narrative thread of your career or business, what were the key moments that defined you?
Ovidiu Toader: Without a doubt, the first moment was the decision to start my first business while I was a student, in 1997. Then came a crucial moment: in 2009, following a major financial and sales crisis, I sold the business to a global leader. This transition forced me to move from the role of entrepreneur to that of Managing Partner and gave me a different perspective on leadership. And of course, a turning point came in 2014, when I decided to become a business coach and work exclusively with entrepreneurs and their teams, a mission that allowed me to share my experience with other entrepreneurs.

C&B: What has been the most difficult moment in your journey so far, and how did you overcome it?
Ovidiu Toader: The most difficult moment was realizing that a business can no longer grow solely based on the entrepreneur’s work. Often, entrepreneurs reach burnout because they delegate tasks, but not responsibility for results. I overcame this crisis by learning to focus on outcomes, clearly define roles, and provide my team with the tools and autonomy needed to take ownership. I went through three iterations—the first two failed, and only the third was successful after I learned from the mistakes of the first two attempts to build a management team.

C&B: Is there a dream or ambition that has always guided you, regardless of obstacles?
Ovidiu Toader: My ambition has always been to help entrepreneurs gain clarity in their vision and delegate effectively so they can lead their businesses and enjoy freedom. I firmly believe that a good leader coaches rather than just gives orders.

C&B: What were you like at the beginning of your journey, and how do you feel you’ve transformed until now?
Ovidiu Toader: At the beginning, I was a passionate entrepreneur, but very focused on operations. I worked a lot in the business. The transformation came when I realized that in order to grow, I had to work on the business. I evolved from being the one who does everything to being the one who guides and coaches the team.

C&B: If we were to meet your team or collaborators, what do you think they would say about you?
Ovidiu Toader: I think they would say that I am a results-driven person, but also compassionate. I hope they would appreciate that I am guided by values such as clarity, efficiency, and the joy of building something sustainable.

C&B: What is the most important decision you’ve made that changed your trajectory?
Ovidiu Toader: The decision to specialize in business coaching was the most important one. It was a leap from building businesses for myself to coaching others to build their own successful businesses. That decision changed my trajectory and gave me profound satisfaction.

C&B: How did you develop your leadership style or your way of making decisions? Was it a natural process or something you learned?
Ovidiu Toader: I believe my leadership style is a combination of instinct and continuous learning. I have learned tremendously from hands-on experience and from failures. My decision-making is guided by my values: clarity, efficiency, results, energy, and empathy. These help me stay focused on what truly matters.

C&B: What do you think differentiates your business or your professional approach from the rest of the industry?
Ovidiu Toader: My approach is based on guiding entrepreneurs on how to take control of their business, not just grow it chaotically. I put a strong emphasis on execution, implementation, and measurement, which is why my sessions are short and intense. My mission is to help them focus on results and avoid the trap of delegating only tasks without responsibility.

C&B: What does a typical day look like for you now, and which moments bring you the most satisfaction?
Ovidiu Toader: A typical day involves coaching sessions, meetings with entrepreneurs, and of course, researching new projects. The greatest satisfaction comes when I see an entrepreneur I’ve worked with achieve results, strengthen their team, and reach their goals. In my personal life, I spend a lot of time with my wife and our four children, supporting them in their growth and enjoying being together.

C&B: What values or principles guide you in what you do, and how do you apply them daily?
Ovidiu Toader: My key values are clarity, efficiency, results, joy, and compassion. I apply them daily by helping entrepreneurs see clearly what they need to do (clarity), work smart, not just hard (efficiency), focus on what creates value (results), enjoy the process (joy), and care for their teams (compassion).

C&B: How did you come up with the idea of starting this business and giving it this name?
Ovidiu Toader: The idea came from my own experience as an entrepreneur. I went through all the stages and realized that many entrepreneurs face the same challenges. After a business magazine called me “the Entrepreneurs’ Coach,” I decided to keep using this name because I like to believe that my role is similar to that of a sports coach: I guide, motivate, and help you become the best version of yourself, both as a leader and as a person.

C&B: If you were to send a message to people who follow your example, what would it be?
Ovidiu Toader: Don’t be afraid to delegate responsibility, not just tasks. Learn to detach from operations and focus on what truly matters. The most important thing is to work with clarity and efficiency to achieve sustainable results. Delegate—or you will be delegated!
