The Story of Anca Raluca Niță: From a Childhood Dream to Building an Academy of Art and Inspiration

Interview with Anca Raluca Niță, choreographer and founder of Talents Academy and Dance Sport Academy, about her artistic journey, her vision on dance, and her mission to shape future generations of professionals.

From the age of just six, Niță Anca Raluca discovered her artistic vocation and her path to the stage. Raised in a family with a strong sports tradition, her passion was inspired by her mother, Niță Luminița, a national champion in artistic gymnastics.
Since then, her entire life has been shaped around discipline, elegance, and artistic emotion—values that have defined her ever since.

Today, Anca Raluca is a choreographer, manager, and founder of Talents Academy and Dance Sport Academy, two projects that have reshaped the dance and professional training landscape in Romania.

C&B: How would you describe yourself in one sentence to spark the curiosity of those who don’t know you yet?

Niță Anca: I am a person who lives through art, discipline, and passion—a free yet organized spirit who has transformed movement into a form of education and inspiration for others.

C&B: If we were to look at the narrative thread of your career, what key moments have defined you?

Niță Anca: It all began at the age of six, when my mother, Niță Luminița, a national champion in artistic gymnastics, guided me towards rhythmic gymnastics. She taught me not only the love for movement but also the respect for hard work and perseverance.
I was a very talented child and pursued performance sports, only to later discover dance—a natural continuation of my passion.
I explored various styles: folk dance (through which I represented Romania in numerous countries), modern jazz, and contemporary dance. Each stage helped shape me into a complete artist.
My studies at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports and later at the School of Arts, Contemporary Dance Department, became the foundation of a solid career.
All these experiences merged into a unique concept born from the heart: Fetno, a fusion between Romanian folk dance and modern styles, bringing a fresh breath to Romanian dance. It is a concept now registered as a trademark at OSIM.
I then continued with entrepreneurship, opening my own fitness and aerobics studio, and the transition to a managerial role was both a challenge and a great lesson. It was the moment I discovered the joy of building and leading a team.

C&B: What is the philosophy of TALENTS Academy and what values do you aim to instill in participants?

Niță Anca: Talents Academy means more than dance; it is a space where we shape people, character, and dreams.
We rely on simple but essential values: passion, discipline, perseverance, and balance.
I believe that every child who walks through our doors has a native talent, and our role is to discover it and nurture it with care and patience.

C&B: Is there a dream or ambition that has guided you throughout your journey, despite obstacles?

Niță Anca: I have always had a clear dream: to make a living doing what I love.
I knew from the beginning that I wanted to stay close to art, the stage, and people. Regardless of challenges, passion has been my engine, and the desire to inspire has been the compass guiding me.

C&B: What did you look like at the beginning of your journey, and how do you feel you have transformed since then?

Niță Anca: At the beginning, I was a dreamy young woman, full of energy, living only for dance. Today, I have learned to turn passion into vision, to blend art with organization, and to build lasting projects.
I feel fulfilled because I have evolved from a performer into a mentor, and every achievement of my students is also my achievement.

C&B: If we were to meet your team or collaborators, what do you think they would say about you?

Niță Anca: I believe they would say that I am a cheerful, inspirational, fair, and optimistic person, with innovative ideas and an energy that never runs out.
Over time, I have learned that success is not built alone. Without a professional and dedicated team, nothing I have accomplished would have been possible.
I deeply respect and value the people by my side, because we share the same values: seriousness, passion, and the desire to grow.
Together, we manage to bring our projects to life and turn dreams into reality.

C&B: What is the most important decision you’ve made that changed your trajectory?

Niță Anca: To trust my intuition and do things according to my own vision. I learned to listen to advice but choose only what aligns with my principles.
This decision gave me the freedom to be authentic and to build exactly as I felt.

C&B: What have been the main challenges in developing the academy?

Niță Anca: The pandemic was undoubtedly the biggest challenge—the artistic field was almost paralyzed. We had to rethink everything, from classes to events.
Then came the administrative challenges—for an artist, accounting and bureaucracy are a whole different universe! 😄
But the greatest responsibility remains training future instructors, who rely on my experience and knowledge.

C&B: What do you believe sets your studio apart from others?

Niță Anca: Authenticity, vision, and the blend of tradition with modernity.
We don’t just teach dance; we offer a complete experience of personal and professional development.
Through Dance Sport Academy, we created a system where dancers can become instructors accredited by the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Education, and since 2018 we have also launched the licensing program for judges.
I am proud that many of our graduates have opened their own dance schools, carrying our spirit forward.

C&B: What does a typical day look like for you now, and what moments bring you the greatest satisfaction?

Niță Anca: My life has no typical days! 😄 Every day comes with a new challenge: classes, shows, rehearsals, new projects.
Five times a year, we organize international dance competitions where the energy and emotion reach maximum levels.
The greatest satisfaction is seeing the evolution of children and young people who gain confidence and courage through dance.

C&B: What values or principles guide your work, and how do you apply them daily?

Niță Anca: Seriousness, respect, and love for people.
I believe in the power of example—I never ask my students for anything I am not willing to do myself.
Every day is a lesson in perseverance, and I choose to live it with joy.

C&B: How did the idea of founding TALENTS Academy come about, and what inspired you to focus on talent development?

Niță Anca: After many years dedicated to fitness and aerobics, I felt the need to return to my true source of energy—dance.
In 2016, I founded Talents Academy, a space where children and young people can grow artistically but also as human beings.
At the same time, I launched Dance Sport Academy, which trains accredited instructors and judges.
I find it extraordinary that through these programs I have contributed to shaping a new generation of professionals in Romanian dance.

C&B: What are the development plans for TALENTS Academy in the coming years?

Niță Anca: I want Talents Academy to expand to several cities in Romania and become a national platform for artistic education.
I am also working on new international partnerships and projects that will promote modern Romanian dance on European stages.
For me, dance is not just a profession but a mission—to inspire, to educate, and to give wings to those who believe in their dreams.

I believe in the power of dance to bring people together and change lives. If I have managed to inspire even one person to follow their dream, I consider my mission fulfilled.

Through Talents Academy and Dance Sport Academy, she mentors new generations, inspires confidence, and transforms dance into a tool for education and personal growth.
