An interview with Constantin Vasile, founder of Bazar de Muzică, exploring his journey, the challenges of building the project, and how he created a vibrant community dedicated to music and vinyl culture.
Constantin Vasile, founder of Bazar de Muzică, is one of those creators who transform passion into a lively, open space deeply connected to people. With a vision that blends music education, artistic production, and support for the musician community, Constantin has built a project that promotes authenticity and free expression.

C&B: If we were to look at the narrative thread of your career, what were the key moments that defined you?
Constantin Vasile: My career started from the very bottom, from working in a supermarket during university, loading and unloading bags of chestnuts, to becoming a store manager or live operations manager at two of the most important delivery companies. I believe all these experiences were key!
C&B: What has been the most difficult moment so far for Bazar de Muzică, and how did you overcome it?
Constantin Vasile: The discouragement from my family. The start was the hardest and it was done with all the safety nets activated. In the end, the family is proud of the achievement of this business.
C&B: Is there a dream or ambition that has always guided you, regardless of obstacles?
Constantin Vasile: No, I always take life step by step as it comes, without too many plans or ambitions.
C&B: How did you look at the beginning of the journey, and how do you feel you have transformed up to now?
Constantin Vasile: I am much more confident in my own abilities. If in a corporation my imagination or ideas were constrained by certain budgets, standards, or procedures, here I have applied everything that came to mind and it seems I succeeded.
C&B: If we were to meet your team or collaborators, what do you think they would say about you?
Constantin Vasile: They always tell me to rest and that I work too much, or that I buy too many things.
C&B: What is the most important decision you have made that changed your trajectory?
Constantin Vasile: Moving to Bucharest and then leaving the corporation where I didn’t feel comfortable. I am not a fan of the saying “get out of your comfort zone.” I believe we should strive towards the comfort zone!
C&B: What is the most beautiful story or encounter that has taken place at Bazar de Muzică?
Constantin Vasile: Many beautiful stories have happened here, but I am always impressed when children or young people from very remote cities in Romania come specifically to Bucharest to visit our location and recommend music for our Reels!
C&B: What does “bazar” mean to you in the context of music—a collection of sounds, emotions, or people?
Constantin Vasile: A community, active and vibrant!

C&B: What does a typical day look like for you now, and what moments bring you the greatest satisfaction?
Constantin Vasile: I take my child to kindergarten, then I arrive at the shop where I clean the yard and start unpacking merchandise boxes. The peaks are when people come to film clips with recommendations.
C&B: What do you think the Romanian music market is missing, and how is Bazar de Muzică trying to fill that gap?
Constantin Vasile: The music market is continuously developing, and Bazar de Muzică is trying to be part of that process. We help small bands, and they help us.
C&B: How did the story of Bazar de Muzică begin, and what inspired you to create a space dedicated to music and vinyl?
Constantin Vasile: The inspiration came from the fact that in a city like Bucharest such a place didn’t exist, and I still wonder why no one even tried, because the demand and need were very high!
C&B: In what way do you plan to take the concept further—through events, collaborations, expansion to other cities?
Constantin Vasile: We are already participating in various events and collaborating with many brands in the music field. We don’t plan an expansion to other cities, but we don’t exclude it either! We just hope the growth stabilizes and that we become more efficient and better!
Constantin Vasile’s story shows that passion, consistency, and the courage to build something unique can turn a simple idea into a cultural landmark.
