C&B: If we were to look at the narrative thread of your career, what have been the key moments that defined you?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: There were several decisive milestones that shaped my direction. The first important moment was when I understood that technology could become not just a tool, but a lifestyle. The second major stage was the launch of Case Smart, which confirmed to me that the Romanian market was ready for a professional approach in the smart home field. The third moment came with the creation of Luxion — my own brand of glass electrical fittings, into which I placed attention, design, quality, and a philosophy fit for the future: intelligent yet discreet technology.

C&B: What has been the most difficult moment so far in your journey, and how did you overcome it?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: The hardest moment was the period when I had to choose between staying in a comfort zone or taking a bold step toward entrepreneurship on my own. I overcame that phase through consistency, through the good people around me, and through the firm belief that a modern home deserves high-quality technology accessible to everyone. The logistical, financial, or technical challenges eventually became essential lessons.

C&B: Is there a dream or ambition that has guided you throughout, regardless of obstacles?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: I have always been driven by the desire to build something long-term. Not a store, not just a brand, but an ecosystem. My dream is for Luxion to become the Romanian reference name in Europe when we talk about touch switches, premium fittings, and smart home solutions. And for Case Smart to be the place where people find trust, consultancy, and durable solutions.

C&B: What were you like at the beginning of your journey, and how do you feel you’ve transformed since then?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: In the beginning, I had enthusiasm but less structure. Today, things look completely different: I have a clear direction, a united team, and a consolidated brand built with hard work and attention to detail. My transformation was possible not only through the experience I gained but also thanks to the people who stood by me. My wife, Ana Maria, has always been a constant anchor of balance and real support in important decisions.

Today, I consider myself a mature leader, attentive to quality, to people, and to the way a product’s values are conveyed and respected.

C&B: If we were to meet your team or collaborators, what do you think they would say about you?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: They would probably say that I am passionate about technology, friendly, demanding when necessary, but fair. That I put passion into everything I do and that when I promise something, it gets done. They would also say, I believe, that for me “it’s not possible” doesn’t exist — only “we haven’t yet found the right solution”.

C&B: What is the most important decision you’ve made that changed your trajectory?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: The decision to create Luxion, my own brand. It was the point at which I was no longer just selling products but starting to define them, design them, and improve them. Essentially, it was the moment I transitioned from commerce to innovation.

C&B: Can a house be 100% automated? Is there a limit to current technology, or does it depend more on the user’s openness?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: Technologically speaking, yes — a house can be 100% automated. The limits do not come from technology but from the user’s needs and openness. Today we can control lights, blinds, climate, cameras, audio systems, security, and much more, including remotely. However, good automation is the one that serves the person, not overwhelms them.

C&B: What are the most in-demand smart home solutions in Romania, and how has customer behavior changed in recent years?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: Romanians have become very oriented toward comfort and energy efficiency. The most requested solutions are: glass touch switches — where Luxion is highly appreciated; smart outlets; lighting and scenario control systems; blind and curtain automation; security systems; climate control and consumption monitoring. Customer behavior has matured significantly.

C&B: What does a typical day look like for you now, and which moments bring you the greatest satisfaction?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: My day starts early, with a balanced routine and checking ongoing projects. It continues with communication with suppliers, clients, the team, and with optimizing Luxion products. The greatest satisfaction comes when I receive direct feedback — when a client tells me that the chosen solution changes the way they live in their own home.

C&B: What does a “complete smart home project” mean to you, from the first discussion with the client to implementation?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: A complete project means real consultancy, design, professional implementation, perfect integration, and educating the client. Technology must be invisible yet present.

C&B: What inspired you to launch case-smart.ro, and when did you realize that smart home solutions would become a necessity rather than a luxury?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: I launched Case Smart when I realized that people wanted comfort and safety at home without complications. Smart homes shifted from luxury to necessity when energy prices increased and efficiency became an essential topic.

C&B: What important objective do you want to achieve as soon as possible in the evolution of your business?

Florin Cristian Ghivnici: The main objective is the consolidation and expansion of the Luxion brand both in Romania, through our strategic partners, and internationally, through developing distribution networks in Italy, Hungary, and Spain. In parallel, I want to strengthen our position as a leader in the smart home industry and transform the Case Smart showrooms in Bacău and Iași into clear benchmarks for consultancy, design, and intelligent technology.
