Trendyol opens Greece and Bulgaria to thousands of Romanian merchants

Romania strengthens its role as a regional e-commerce hub

Trendyol is accelerating its regional expansion by enabling Romanian merchants to access external markets. Around 1,500 Romanian sellers are already active in Greece, where cross-border sales generate an average 30% business uplift. In Bulgaria, more than 1,300 Romanian merchants joined the platform within just two weeks of launch.

The initiative began in November 2025 with the opening of the Greek market and expanded to Bulgaria at the end of January 2026, reinforcing Romania’s position as a regional e-commerce hub.

Romanian merchants list more than 2.2 million products in Greece and over 2 million in Bulgaria, spanning categories such as fashion, home, beauty and lifestyle.

“Strengthening Romania as a robust domestic market and developing it as a strategic hub for the international expansion of local businesses are key strategic priorities for us. Continuous investments in logistics, payment systems, compliance and cross-border capabilities support this direction, enabling Romanian merchants to grow their businesses locally and internationally with ease,” said Irem Yılandil, Head of International Expansion at Trendyol.

The platform provides an end-to-end experience comparable to domestic sales through an integrated cross-border logistics network. Seller Center tools allow merchants to manage each market separately, while automated migration of discounts and coupons simplifies commercial strategy implementation.

Currently, more than 8,000 Romanian merchants, mostly SMEs, are active on Trendyol, accounting for about 50% of the platform’s local business volume.
