ING Bank România has launched ING Travel Protect, a fully digital travel insurance product available directly in the Home’Bank application, in partnership with Allianz-Țiriac Asigurări, according to Revista Cariere.
The product can be configured in just a few minutes and becomes active within approximately two hours, reflecting how people currently plan their trips — quickly, digitally, and directly from their mobile devices.

Personalized insurance with fast access
Customers can tailor the policy based on destination, travel dates, and purpose (leisure, studies, or work). The insurance can also be issued for other individuals, regardless of whether they are ING clients, requiring only basic identification details.
Group discounts and launch offer
ING Travel Protect includes a 10% discount for groups of 2 to 10 people. Additionally, until June 30, 2026, a launch offer applies: for every third insured person, the policy cost is refunded to the customer’s account.
Broad coverage and 24/7 assistance
The policy covers a wide range of situations, including medical expenses, emergencies, lost baggage, stolen documents, and recreational accidents, with 24/7 assistance included.
Medical costs drive most claims
According to UNSAR, 84% of travel insurance claims are related to medical services.
In the first half of 2025, an average of 50 insured tourists received compensation daily, while the largest claim reached €50,000.
Representatives of Allianz-Țiriac Asigurări noted that over 80% of cases are settled through direct payment to medical providers, without requiring customers to pay upfront.
