Romania launches the first Fidelis 2026 government bond issue, with tax-free yields of up to 7.5%

Subscription window runs from January 16 to 23

Romania’s Ministry of Finance has announced the first Fidelis 2026 government bond issue, available between January 16 and 23, according to Economedia. The bonds offer tax-free yields of up to 7.50% for leu-denominated issues and up to 6.20% for euro-denominated ones.

The bonds are open to resident and non-resident individuals aged over 18 and can be subscribed through partner banks, with the instruments listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

For leu-denominated bonds, yields range from 6.45% to 7.50%, depending on maturity, while euro-denominated bonds offer yields between 3.75% and 6.20%.

A special two-year leu tranche is available for blood donors, offering a 7.45% yield and a reduced minimum subscription of 500 lei, subject to a maximum cap.

Bond income is tax-free, and investors may sell the securities before maturity on the exchange.
