Wizz Air introduces the option to block adjacent seats for extra comfort

Wizz Class offers more space and premium perks

Wizz Air will allow passengers to pay an additional fee to block the middle seat next to them, providing extra personal space during the flight. The move follows a 2023 consumer survey showing that 42% of travelers would consider paying to keep the middle seat empty, Euronews reports.

The feature is part of a new product called Wizz Class, aimed at passengers seeking a more comfortable experience. Travelers can book a window or aisle seat and block the adjacent middle seat, while also receiving extra legroom, priority boarding, two carry-on items, and complimentary snacks and soft drinks.

The service is available on selected routes to and from six European airports, including Bucharest’s Henri Coandă International Airport, as well as Budapest, London Luton, London Gatwick, Rome Fiumicino and Warsaw. The upgrade can be selected during booking.

Similar options already exist across Europe, with airlines like Air France and Lufthansa offering paid solutions for empty adjacent seats or even full sleeping rows on long-haul flights.
