Purcari Wineries seeks to acquire SERVE Ceptura, Romania’s first private winery founded after 1989

Purcari Wineries Public Company Limited has announced the submission of an indicative offer to acquire 100% of the share capital of SERVE Ceptura SRL, according to Economedia. The move targets one of the most established wine producers in the Dealu Mare region and represents a strategic step in strengthening Purcari’s presence in Romania.

According to the company, the transaction would support the consolidation of Purcari’s Dealu Mare platform by expanding vineyard surface and adding complementary production capacity. SERVE Ceptura manages around 60 hectares of vineyards, which would enhance the group’s existing resources in the region.

“This acquisition represents a natural step in consolidating Purcari’s presence in the prestigious Dealu Mare wine region. It increases our vineyard area by approximately 60 hectares and adds complementary production capacity. The proximity of the SERVE winery in Ceptura, located just 1.5 km from our Ceptura winery, allows for immediate operational synergies, improved efficiency across the entire value chain, and strengthens Purcari’s Dealu Mare platform,” said Victor Bostan, founder of Purcari Wineries Group.

A winery with strong heritage and international recognition

Founded in 1994 by Count Guy de Poix and Mihaela Tyrel de Poix, SERVE Ceptura SRL is the first private winery established in Romania after 1989. The company operates in Ceptura, DOC Dealu Mare, widely regarded as Romania’s most renowned wine-growing region.

SERVE Ceptura produces around 0.5 million bottles per year and operates fully integrated winemaking facilities with a storage capacity of approximately 1 million liters. Over more than three decades, the winery has earned over 250 international awards and developed a strong brand portfolio, including Vinul Cavalerului, Terra Romana, and premium Cuvée labels such as Charlotte and Amaury.
