Poșta Română has signed a strategic partnership with Meest to expand the Meest Point Out-of-Home (OOH) delivery network across Romania. In the first phase, approximately 1,000 pick-up and drop-off points will be activated, according to information published by Wall-Street based on a press release sent to AGERPRES.
According to the National Company Romanian Post (CNPR), the partnership supports international merchants delivering to Romania, improves last-mile operational efficiency and provides greater convenience and accessibility for Romanian consumers, including those in areas with limited logistics coverage.
“At the core of this partnership lies the national infrastructure of Romanian Post, which reaches communities in urban, semi-urban and rural areas. By integrating Meest Point services into its postal office network, Romanian Post strengthens its role as infrastructure supporting eCommerce and modern parcel delivery solutions.

This initiative reflects the ongoing transformation of Romanian Post and its commitment to adapting the national network to the evolving needs of the eCommerce ecosystem. Romania’s eCommerce market has reached a stage where sustainable growth depends not only on consumer demand, but also on the capacity of logistics infrastructure. As online order volumes increase and delivery expectations become more demanding, the market requires scalable nationwide solutions, not infrastructure concentrated solely in major cities,” the company stated.
From a business perspective, the partnership is expected to increase operational efficiency, enhance last-mile delivery flexibility and support growing cross-border parcel flows. “For international merchants and retailers delivering to Romania, this means greater reliability, broader coverage and consistent service standards. Sustainable eCommerce growth depends on aligning demand with infrastructure, and this collaboration provides a concrete response to that need,” the statement adds.
Meest Point operates as a unified PUDO (Pick-Up/Drop-Off) network under a single service standard across several European markets. Last year, the company handled 39.4 million parcels in 40 countries and is active in seven core Central and Eastern European markets, supported by branch offices and cross-docking facilities. Over the next three years, more than 50,000 Meest Point locations are planned across the CEE region.
Romanian Post currently operates more than 5,000 postal subunits nationwide and distributes over 11 million postal items weekly, including 676 post offices and 1,054 postal counters.
