Students from rural areas can apply for the third edition of the BookLand Scholarships program, which offers €35,000 in financial support for 7 years of high school and university studies.
The BookLand Association is launching the third edition of the BookLand Scholarships program, through which students from rural areas with outstanding academic results can receive financial support of €35,000 each to continue their studies in high school and university. Given that only 8 out of 100 students from rural areas graduate from university, the program aims to offer real opportunities to those who have demonstrated performance, determination, and consistency, but who need financial support to continue their educational journey after the 8th grade.
The scholarship covers essential expenses for 7 years, including transportation, accommodation, meals, school supplies, and other necessary costs, allowing students to study without financial worries and focus on achieving high performance.
Currently, the program includes 7 scholarship recipients who started the 2025–2026 school year with financial support provided by partners PRO TV (6 scholarships awarded) and Star Assembly (1 scholarship awarded). The total value of scholarships and special prizes granted to students so far amounts to €265,000.
Applications for the third edition of the BookLand Scholarships are open until April 16, 2026. Students can be nominated by teachers, and the selection process includes an evaluation of academic results, annual averages, performance in different subjects, participation in competitions or Olympiads, etc., as well as an interview (in front of the jury), during which candidates present their future plans and their options for continuing their studies in high school and university. The results of this edition will be announced during the BookLand Gala, which will take place at the “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum in Bucharest in the second half of May.

From a Gala Event to a National Program
The first BookLand Scholarships were awarded in November 2024, when the three winners of the inaugural edition were honored on the stage of the National Theatre in Bucharest during the BookLand Gala event. Interest in the program doubled in 2025, and during the second edition of the Gala, organized at the Romanian Peasant Museum, four students were awarded scholarships totaling €140,000, selected from more than 200 valuable applications. At the same time, the finalists were also rewarded with special prizes granted with the support of PRO TV.
However, the relationship with the scholarship recipients does not end at the moment of the award ceremony.
“We remain by the side of these extraordinary young people throughout the seven years, supporting them and inviting them to meetings and events that we consider important for their personal and professional development. In return, they share many things with us, from grades obtained at school, awards and great results in various competitions, to stories from high school life or different extracurricular activities they pursue out of passion,” said Mihaela Petrovan, President of the BookLand Association.

Student Application Process
All those interested in applying are invited to consult the program regulations and complete the application form available on the page https://book-land.ro/burse/ by April 16, 2026. To complete the application process, registered students must also submit a video of up to 10 minutes presenting their motivation, future plans, and educational journey. The video can be sent via WhatsApp at +40 749 019 973 or by email to anamaria.polgar@book-land.ro.
Participation is open to all 8th-grade students from rural areas, in accordance with the principles of equal opportunities and non-discrimination.
BookLand Association – Promoter of Education and Professional Training
For more than 15 years, the BookLand Association has actively promoted the importance of education and personal development through a wide range of projects dedicated to children and young people in Romania. Through the BookLand Evolution Meetings, high school students gain access to dialogues with personalities from various fields who offer guidance, inspiration, and professional role models. The Cooltural Camps provide a balanced mix of educational and recreational activities, while through the School Renovation and Equipment Program, hundreds of companies, local authorities, teachers, and parents have collaborated, at the initiative of the BookLand Association, to modernize school infrastructure in rural areas.
This public–private partnership was built around a common objective: reducing school dropout rates in rural communities by ensuring access to quality education in safe, modern, and welcoming buildings. The results are already visible: 80 rural schools and kindergartens renovated in just four years, and over 15,000 children each year who now attend school with greater confidence and improved academic performance.
In 2025, BookLand partially inaugurated in Vulturești commune, Argeș County, the first Pre-University Professional Dual Education Campus in rural Romania, built exclusively from private funds. The project marks a new stage: integrating theoretical education with professional training starting from the preparatory grade, within a model that connects schools with the labor market and ensures, through professional qualification, greater stability and a better standard of living.
