Boeing ramps up hiring, recruiting over 100 workers weekly to boost production

Boeing is hiring between 100 and 140 workers per week in its factories, marking the fastest recruitment pace since 2024, as the company replaces retiring employees and increases production capacity. The information was reported by Reuters.

In the Pacific Northwest region, the number of unionized employees has exceeded 34,000, according to union representatives, and continues to grow.

Pressure on 737 MAX and 777X production

The company is hiring to support increased output of the Boeing 737 MAX, including the operation of a fourth production line in Seattle, known as the “North Line”.

At the same time, recruitment targets the Boeing 777X program, as well as workforce replacement due to retirements.

New hires also cover support roles such as logistics, transportation, warehousing, and materials management.

Aerospace labor market recovery

In Washington, aerospace jobs rose to 81,800 in February, up from around 79,000 the previous year.

Growth is driven by global demand for more fuel-efficient aircraft and the expansion of defense and space sectors.

Skilled labor shortage

The industry still faces a shortage of qualified workers, with only about 75% of certified mechanics coming from formal training programs.

Hiring across the sector

Honeywell expects to add over 1,200 employees this year, reflecting broader hiring trends across the aerospace industry.
