Romanian platform targets alternative accommodation segment
ByChoice.ro has entered the online booking market with a platform dedicated exclusively to apartments and holiday homes, according to Wall-Street.
Amid rising domestic tourism and a fragmented accommodation market, ByChoice positions itself as a local alternative to international platforms and informal social media bookings. The platform does not list hotels or guesthouses.

Initially tested on the Romanian seaside, the platform has expanded nationwide and currently lists around 350 properties. Bookings are processed in a secure framework, with payment guarantees and refund policies. ByChoice operates as a licensed travel agency, accepts holiday vouchers and provides full invoicing.
The commission structure is positioned as more flexible compared to major international platforms, potentially enabling more balanced pricing. The company also provides Romanian-language support.
