Malaysian home improvement retailer Mr. DIY is set to open its first store in Romania in Pitești, located in the Supernova Pitești shopping center, according to information published by Economedia.
The store is scheduled to open on March 14, 2026, marking the company’s official entry into the Romanian market.

With this launch, Romania becomes the 15th global market for Mr. DIY and the third within the European Union, after Spain and Poland. The expansion follows the company’s entry into South Africa roughly a year ago.
The move is part of the group’s broader strategy to expand across Eastern Europe and the Balkans, with plans previously announced for entering markets such as Romania and Bulgaria.
Store located in Supernova shopping center
The first Romanian store will be located in Supernova Pitești, a shopping center with around 45,000 square meters of retail space, hosting 90 stores and offering 1,700 parking spaces.
According to data from Termene.ro, the local entity Mr. DIY România SRL was established on August 28, 2023, with its headquarters in Bucharest. Its main activity is retail trade in non-specialized stores.
The company is managed by Sathis Manoharen, who serves as VP Group Strategy & Corporate Finance and oversees operations in multiple markets, including Turkey, Greece, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, India and Vietnam.
