MedLife has completed the full acquisition of MEDSTAR, an outpatient and paraclinical healthcare services provider based in Cluj-Napoca, according to Economedia. Following the transaction, MEDSTAR becomes part of the Sfânta Maria network, a MedLife Group brand primarily serving patients accessing services through Romania’s public health insurance system.
The transaction was initially announced in June 2025 and was finalized on January 29, 2026, after all required conditions were met, the group stated.

“The completion of the MEDSTAR acquisition marks an important milestone in MedLife Group’s strategy to further develop the Sfânta Maria brand. Our goal is to build strong medical networks with solid local roots and accessible services for as many patients as possible,” said Dorin Preda, Deputy CEO of MedLife Group.
Founded in 2004, MEDSTAR operates four clinics in Cluj-Napoca, along with a laboratory, light imaging services, and medical recovery facilities. The group provides care across more than 30 medical specialties, supported by a team of over 200 doctors and specialists.
Following the completion of the transaction, MEDSTAR’s management team will remain in place to ensure operational continuity and a gradual integration into the Sfânta Maria medical network. The Sfânta Maria network currently includes more than 60 medical units nationwide.
