Rockwool has started the construction of a new production line at its plant in Ariceștii Rahtivani, Prahova County. The €150 million investment aims to double the production capacity of stone wool by the end of 2027.
The new unit will operate with an electric furnace designed for melting volcanic rock, a technology that, according to the company, reduces emissions and supports decarbonization goals. The line will be separate from the existing one and is part of the group’s plan to expand its manufacturing capacity in Southeast Europe.
