Romanian bakery company Vel Pitar has initiated a voluntary recall of certain bread batches after confirming an isolated case of foreign object contamination, according to an announcement by the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA), cited by Agerpres.
During internal checks, the company identified a fragment of white plastic material, prompting a precautionary withdrawal and recall of the affected products.

The products involved are:
- Domnească White Bread 1 kg – expiration dates: 06.03.26C, 07.03.26C, 11.03.26C, 16.03.26C, 17.03.26C
- Deplina Extra White Bread 600 g – expiration date: 05.03.26C
The recall applies regardless of the digit that follows the letter C in the batch code.
Consumers who purchased the affected products are advised not to consume them. The items can be destroyed or returned to the stores where they were purchased until March 17, 2026, and the value of the products will be refunded without requiring a receipt.
ANSVSA stated that it is closely monitoring the recall process and working with the company to ensure the complete withdrawal of the affected products from the market.
