Swiss group Holcim has completed two acquisitions in the demolition-recycling sector and agreed to a third, strengthening its footprint in circular construction across Europe. Together, the three companies have a combined annual permitted processing capacity of around 1.3 million tonnes.
Holcim has finalized the acquisition of Thames Materials, a major recycler of construction and demolition waste in West London and surrounding counties. The group has also acquired a majority stake in A&S Recycling GmbH, a Hanover-based company operating in northern Germany. In addition, Holcim has reached an agreement to purchase a demolition-materials recycler in northwestern France.
