Sector 1 opens a new public parking facility under Basarab Overpass

The Sector 1 City Hall has announced the opening of a new public parking facility with barrier access in the Nicolae Titulescu – Banu Manta area, located beneath the Basarab Overpass, according to Wall-Street.

The parking area includes 65 spaces and will operate 24 hours a day. Parking fees are set at 3 lei for 30 minutes and 5 lei per hour, with payments made at automated terminals installed in the parking area.

Second barrier-controlled parking this year

The newly opened facility is the second public parking lot with barrier access launched in Sector 1 this year. A similar system already operates in the underground parking facility on Mureș Street (numbers 18–24), which offers 114 parking spaces.

Local authorities also announced that the next barrier-controlled parking project will be located on Privighetorilor Alley, with 86 parking spaces.

Monthly subscriptions possible for residents

According to the regulation governing the allocation and management of parking spaces, the City Hall may introduce monthly parking subscriptions for Sector 1 residents, depending on occupancy rates.

The proposed subscription fees are:

  • 150 lei per month for night parking (between 7:00 PM and 8:00 AM);
  • 250 lei per month for access during any time of day.
